Pre game oysters and beer before dinner at our next venue and this was the perfect place on a Friday night. Kind of weird, in a nice Brooklyn way, with skeletons seated nearby, just a relaxing, unpretentious "bar bistro-ish" feel. Oysters were good, good beer selection, good service. Didn't see any hipsters here tonight, cool.

Citroen is a regular joint for me and my friend. We love this restaurant. And we pretty much order the same thing each time; either a Manhattan or a Rusty Nail and specify less sweet and we get what we want. Oysters are plump and delicious and our favorite is the foie gras mousse which we spread on bread. We never tire of it. It's such a relaxing atmosphere and kind of fun. Not your typical French bistro but we love sharing it with their unusual decor. I must try their mussels because when they brought that to another table, I caught a whiff of the sauce. Omigosh. It was divine. This is our go to place when we just want to have good drinks, food and chill.

So l have had two quite different experiences here and the most consistent thing I can say about both of them, they were excellent. I had never been to Citroën before the other night but I had ordered out on several, and I mean several occasions. I started on the Steak au Poivre, served medium rare. The sauce for the Steak au Poivre, I don't know what it is but it's excellent. There's a certain beauty to this dish and the Coq au Vin, which I can say is one of my favorite dishes of any restaurant, and consistently good. It's heavenly honestly. Ok now let me transmute to my visit; I was waiting for my date, and the atmosphere was both inviting and silly (the two skeletons beside me at the bar). The service was quite excellent, our bartender was attentive and overly conscious. Everything, whether it be the serving of the oysters or the drinks, was timed perfectly. I can't say anymore but this restaurant has failed to disappoint and has performed beyond my exceptionally high standards.

I absolutely love this place! We had gotten a reservation and were recommended by a friend. As soon as you walk in the ambiance is stunning, pleasant aromas, candlelit, and with surprisingly amazing music amplyfing of the vibe of NYC. Very clean and eye pleasing. The cocktails are complex and absolutely stunning. The staff were pleasant, kind, and attentive making us feel central during our dining experience. The dinner was prompt, savory and the plating was perfect. Definitely Instagram worthy presentaions. Comfortable seating and some breathing room between tables, not overcrowded some subtle private seating as well. They do offer outdoor dining and some specials. I do look forward to trying the brunch. Highly recommend. Great for a romantic dinner or night with friends. Checks all the boxes with absolute attention to detail. Just go see. You will not be disappointed.

My Fiance and I have lived across the street from Citroen for 2 years, and consider ourselves lucky to know Dawn and her staff. They are like family to us, and we've celebrated seminal life moments with them at Citroen. We hosted our engagement party there, and regularly come in to sit and the bar, play cards, and enjoy some of the best food in Brooklyn. Dawn's cocktails are incredible and her chefs consistently put out delicious and well presented dishes. We love this place! Everyone should stop by!BTW - I think their omelette is the best in NY.

Good luck working in customer service, you’re unhinged.My one star review is because of the terrible way I was treated by the owner. I told another patron I found their clothing offensive. The owner comes up to the table, tells me I was inappropriate, I say this person’s clothing is inappropriate (it was antisemitic). The owner tells us to leave, when we don’t immediately leave she starts screaming, saying we’re trespassing, that she’s going to call the cops. We tell her to go ahead and call the copsShe calls us crazy and body checks me. Her poor waitstaff came up (our server was very nice), apologized and quietly asked us to leave, so we did. The owner is volatile and aggressive and supports antisemitism. I’m sure she’ll respond to this aggressively based on her response to other negative reviews.
