I had a very disappointing experience with Citroen on Monday night. I ordered their steak and asked for it to be medium well, but instead it came rare. This was a takeout order, so I thought I would leave it be, but the next day I felt really sick from the small amount I did have, so I decided to call the restaurant. The person who answered took down my information and then let me know they would call me back later that night. When I didn’t receive any response, I decided to email them the next day and in response they were extremely defensive and adamant that they prepared the steak correctly. I am really disappointed that they never tried to remedy the situation or even offer to refund the amount that I paid. They were rude in their email response back to me, and from what it seems from other google complaints, this is a common issue for the restaurant. I won’t be returning and if you are looking for a good restaurant in this area, I suggest you don’t try this one out either.

The menu is perfect, basically it fits all kinds of diets. The server was very attentive and checking on us all the time. We love the atmosphere, very nice mood lighting, candles on every table and music selection matches the mood. Definitely come back for more of this kind dining experience!

Food was great! They charge $5 per Diet Coke. I didn’t see that coming. Should have asked… oh well. Still was good. :)

Really unique place. The décor was gothic and antique with skeletons, dim lighting, heavy drapery and flourishing greenery. Service was great, considerate and punctual. Menu was very impressive. Ordered the cheese plate for our table of three and we all enjoyed the selection. Will be back when I’m in Williamsburg again.

Came here for a birthday brunch with a friend after craving french onion soup and the quality of a michelin star winner. Pros: The ambience and decor of the restaurant, the french onion soup was delicious, and we enjoyed our drinks. The pancakes were also great.Cons: service and avocado toast - We were the first guests at lunch and ordered the soup for me and avocado toast for my friend. We also asked for pancakes to come after as dessert. However, the avocado toast arrived about 30 minutes after my soup, so we did not eat at the same time. Normally, that would have been fine but the avocado toast was soggy and the eggs were cold, so it seemed that we were forgotten about. We were confused because tables that arrived after us had all of the meals served together and before the toast. It was also not acknowledged by the server. We did not want to complain and ruin the birthday vibe but thought it was worth sharing our experience.

My boyfriend and I came here after stumbling across it one day on a walk, and I’m so glad we did. Very nice yet casual French restaurant. Our cocktails were 10/10. I had a spicy margarita and he had a dirty gin martini which came in a cute sidecar. To eat we started off with a few $1 oysters on happy hour, the artichoke (pictured) and French onion soup (also pictured). All were great but the soup was the best I’ve had out of French onion soups. For our mains, we had the coq au vin and Pat Lafrieda burger. The burger was incredible and the chicken was so juicy and tender. We finished off with a pumpkin spice latte. We will definitely be back!!

I was very impressed by the onion soup here. Broth has deep onion flavors but not salty. Cheese on top was not overdone, so the soup was not too heavy. Coq au vin was fantastic. Also very cozy vibes with very pleasant lighting and music. Drinks were good especially at happy hour prices.

I recently moved to the area and was so excited to check out this spot on my block. Unfortunately as soon as we walked in they were extremely rude. The place was completely empty and they refused to seat us. I hurt my foot so I had a scooter and they said that's not allowed in, even though it folds up. I couldn't believe it. I don't ever leave negative reviews because I know how much it hurts small businesses. But honestly maybe there's a reason this place is empty. Safe to say I won't be coming back. What a shame...

We didn't need a reservation for a party of two on a Saturday evening. They still had happy hour going for a Saturday evening which was surprising but much appreciated it. I had 2 glasses of easy to drink house Malbec. I think it was 9/glass.We shared the bib lettuce salad, the foie grais, the steak frites with brussel sprouts and Mac and cheese sides. The food was overall very good. I felt like the steak needed a bit more salt. This seems like a good place to get an easy resy for a decent meal - nothing spectacular but something that would still hit the spot.

It was a very good meal, but doesn't live up to its potential. Decor is very nice, think Minetta Tavern and lighting that makes everyone look good. Risotto, was great, steak frites was good (but not quite on the level of a top steak house), and wine list has some great bottles that are reasonably priced. The problem was that out of the nine or so bottles of red wine on the list, they only had bottles of three! The first one I ordered, I got "sorry, we're out of that". Fair enough, the second bottle I ordered he came out with a bottle from a different vintage and winemaker to the one on the menu. The next one I wanted, they didn't have. He finally brought out the three bottles they did have. The one we selected was great (and it, like the others, had very fair markups, which is a big plus). Our server was friendly throughout and apologetic, but for this price point restaurant, either have the wine on hand or change the menu. We really were at the "you've got to be kidding stage". All that said, I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Favorite place in the world. Full of decorations for Halloween! It should win an award for coziest and most decorated places of the year ❤️
