CJ Café is a solid spot for authentic Jamaican food, but it has its ups and downs. I’ve been there a few times, and the food is usually great—flavorful, well-seasoned, and filling. The jerk chicken is spicy and smoky, the curry goat is tender, and the oxtail is rich and delicious. They give you big portions, so you definitely get your money’s worth.

This place has fallen off so hard it’s really sad. Used to be one of the best to get oxtail and now the oxtail is so bad. Jesus Christ bro. I’m a person who hates to waste or throw away food but I couldn’t even finish my large oxtail because it was that bad. The flavor was off, the color was more red than a deep brown stew color, and they had the nerve to give me a little bit at that. I just threw it out smh, the plate was mostly rice anyway. The only saving grace was the Mac salad was still really good.

Back to being inconsistent. Ordered over $40 worth of food and the jerk chicken was incredibly salty. The rice, undercooked, and a half a scoop of our expected sides. For things to be more expensive these days, the value should match but doesn't. I'm good.

Ive been eating here for years and am usually satisfied. Today _ meh.. I ordered my usual stew peas with macaroni salad on uber eats because I couldnt leave the house. I get my food with rice & stew peas but no macarobi salad...just 4 slices of cucumber in a small plastic container.
If you dont have macaroni atleast contact me or add some other salad or more thab 4 slices of cucumber.

I've ordered and ate an oxtail w/rice &peas before and the food was pretty good. Today i was waiting apx 7-8min to order and the lady working behind the counter asked me if I'm waiting to order. I answered yes, then she walked away and i thought she was coming back to take my order.Then a woman just walked in from outside and started to order and the same employee took her order and left me standing there. I felt like i didn't matter nor did my money, so i just slowly walked out. None of the employees seemed as if they cared. What a shame, because i previously spoke highly of the food with my own employees & wanted to get 5 orders of that same oxtail meal for them. So i just went to the Chinese take-out on the same block @ 867 Flatbush ave.

I ordered stewed peas. And rice with cabbage! And a drink. I received someone else’s order. Curry goat and veggies. No drink. I called the restaurant and they said I must have been given some one else’s order. And for me to contact Uber Eats! But those thieves are refusing to put a credit on my account for a mistake that is not mine? I’ll never order from these thieves again!
