I purchased a Groupon coupon for this restaurant only to discover that this restaurant is closed permanently. The FDNY closed this store due to a.c. violations on 9/2/2022.

This place fried fish like no other. Love the batter they used. There veggies and rolls were fresh and the staff especially Johnny gave me the best customer service in my life.

I used to love this restaurant given that it’s black-owned and the food is always delicious. However, they are seriously lacking in their customer service. We placed a very large order for pickup online after failing to reach them by phone and we called SEVERAL times. When we arrived, the restaurant was closing down and it was only 8pm when online it says they close at midnight. Our food was nowhere in sight and the men outside of the restaurant acted very fishy and suspicious. They took our money and did not give us our food!! We believe that the worker gave his friends our food after they laughed and made a quick exit when they saw us come for our food! This happened on 7/16/22 and it was likely the last order of the night. We. Are. Livid!!!! Do BETTER!

THEIR EMPLOYEES ARE THIEVES. WE DID ORDER PICKUP THROUGH UBEREATS ARRIVED THERE AND THE SHUTTERS WERE HALF WAY DOWN . THERE WERE SEVERAL EMPLOYEES WALKING FROM THE RESTAURANT WHO CLAIMED THEY WERE CLOSED FOR CLEANING EVEN THOUGH DO NOT CLOSE UNTIL AROUND 10/11 . THEY STOLE ALMOST $300 WORTH OF FOOD . ONE OF THE BOYS HAD GLASSES AND A NAPPY HIGH TOP HE SPOKE ABOUT HAVING A Pomeranian DOG . HE WAS ALSO WITH THREE OTHER MALES WHO GOT INTO A BLUE CAR WHILE HE GOT INTO A DOLLAR VAN . THIS IS WHAT BLACK OWNED RESTAURANTS DO NOW ?? THEY REALLY ARE THE LIVING MEAING OF CRABS IN A BARELL AND ITS SADEdit 7/18In response to said owner , if your establishment was closed for the day how were orders still being able to be placed ? That’s still looks bad on YOU .There were NO signs outside saying so , the shutters were HALFWAY down as if someone JUST left . Not to mention y’all open up and close WHENEVER you feel on a daily bases anyways … your ‘store hours’ doesn’t actually reflect when the store is opened . It’s not about the money , y’all are located in a mostly black neighborhood running scams .

I found it strange that the place is called Crabs In A Barrel, but they aren't selling crabs. Apparently, they are having a hard time getting crabs. I still wanted to support. I suggest you order ahead because you will have to wait at least 20-30 minutes for your food. I ordered a Whiting sandwich for $7.49, and received two tiny pieces of fish. I know times are hard, but don't be cheap on the size of fish if you want people to pay more than the regular price. I don't recommend anyone ordering a fish sandwich because you won't get your money's worth. The Snapper, & Shrimp was pretty good though.

The food was excellent I ordered the shrimps and fries and my friend had the crab legs and lobster tail..we were stoned but the food was gooood...we will be coming back soon they get ?% thumbs up lol

If you want to eat good don’t waste your time coming here. Go else where. I seen the bad reviews and ignore it because I wanted to give the place a try.. but it was the worst decision of my life. Don’t eat here !!

Always a great experience here.. From the food to the customer service. They are just great! I love their special cajan sauce but the butter and garlic is amazing too. Great up to date communication when I order through seamless and lovely personalities when I walk inside. I will always go back and recommend!

Excellent customer service and food is amazing. I had their seasoned fries and founder. Very good seasoning. At first glance the hot sauce just seemed to be a generic hot sauce full of vinegar but upon tasting it was very tasty need to try more food. Def plus for seafood lovers.

My total was 11.22. The service was great, I didn't wait long. The female that helped me choose something was very helpful. The food was presented well when I opened it up. I just didn't enjoy it. I ordered the fried fish and season French fries with orange ginger sauce. To be fair, the food wasn't terrible. I just didn't enjoy it. I would go back to try something else totally different. The one thing I really did like was the "festival", I have never had one of those before. I would go back and order 12 of those but the fish and French fries, not so much. I gave 3 stars based off of service (which is big for me) and presentation; both of those were great. Otherwise, I recommended ppl to try the spot but to try something else.
