We randomly stopped in during a trip to Brooklyn. Did not read any reviews prior. I thought it was tasty. I probably woul give it more of a 4.5. We had quick service and our server was nice. I had a tasty burger (forgot to take a pic before I started eating) and the fries were good. My sister ordered the French toast and she said that was really good. Pepsi products (ewww)- that alone should actually deduct a whole point. We did not order cocktails. I would go back.

Came here the other night for a drink and had similar experience to other reviewers around quality. I've never in my life had an Old Fashion that was as clear and watered down as the one I had. Similarly, my friend had the exact same experience with a Negroni. It's a beautiful space, have TVs playing w/ multiple sports (big plus) but given our experience considering the location and cost of rent, I wouldn't be surprised if they were diluting their liquor trying to save a few bucks.

Do not recommend. The bar is cold and the staff is not the friendliest — especially the manager / owner? I’m not sure if he is both, but he is rude and unfriendly. It makes sense why the staff is also not the friendliest.
There are many other great establishments in the area with better food and way better customer service. Please do not waste your time or money on an establishment that couldn’t care less about its customer and is not hospitable AT ALL.
Food - decent, fries were good and hot, but could have used more salt. Still not worth returning to.

I want to express my displeasure with The Custom House on Saturday, 12/20/25. I've been to this establishment a few times and always had a good experience. I decided to have a late dinner here with my family and ordered a drink, which was unavailable. I ordered another drink, but didn't enjoy it. I asked if I could switch and decided on wine. Subsequently, I was approached by who I believe may have been the manager and was told that I was receiving a one-time courtesy drink. I was told that this was how the drink tasted and not everyone tends to like it because of the ingredients or for some other reason. I smiled and thanked them; however, I was told that they were getting rid of a $15 drink. I was offended by that statement alone as if I was taking advantage of the situation. I had every intent on paying, I just did not enjoy the cocktail. I was embarrassed in front of my family simply by the approach to our table and the statements about a one-time courtesy as well as a $15 drink. There could have been a better way to handle the situation and not shaming the customer. The manager should review their soft skills approach. On the other hand, our server was extremely nice and patient. I would hope that this was a one-time situation as I have frequented this restaurant much to my enjoyment, but this experience has left me very disappointed.

Living in Dumbo, there isn’t really a good sports bar - so I was excited when I first discovered Custom House. The wings are sooooo good (they have other sauces that aren’t on the menu 🤫) - the tv situation is great for night games and the staff is super friendly

My 4 yr old took too long walking out of their door when we were leaving… we were “letting cold air in.” Treated poorly because of their lack of patience with children. Good burger but won’t be supporting a place who treats a mother with children this way. Not family friendly!
