Very understated, simple, small Japanese hand roll bar. Reminiscent of one of many small establishments you’d find in a stall-lined street in Japan. ?? It can get packed very fast if you’re here at a busy time but if you’re here off-hours alone? It’s perfect. The hand rolls are everything you need and nothing you don’t. The simplicity of crispy nori and fresh fish is ??. It’s not a place that will fill you up unless you really break the bank. But it’s a good place to eat very high quality food on a sensible portion. Eat well. Live well. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’m a sushi snob and this is some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. Presentation was beautiful; you can tell it’s made with care. I love how the sushi is so simple yet so delicious. Just wow— 10/10!

Just perfect to bring a friend or two for quiet conversation. Small space, but a simple delight. V1, V2 and V3 vegan hand rolls can't be beat. A little hot sake what could be better.

I'm not much of a sushi guy, but I had a pretty good experience here. I got the handroll lunch special (only available at the bar) which was decent value for $32. The fish was high-quality, the rice was fresh, and the sauce pairings on the later rolls (shrimp, unagi) added variety without being overbearing. Also ordered the salmon sashimi, which was tasty as well. Not sure if the cold weather was a factor, but this spot was not super packed during lunch on a brisk Saturday.

So good! Such delicious rolls and with warm service. Definitely want to try the rice bowl next time, but the overall very satisfied with the salmon and tuna rolls I had. Definitely coming back soon.

The hand rolls are the attraction here, and the warm rice is what makes it better than your average sushi. Probably the best sushi in Park Slope/Gowanus.

We finally made it to Daigo this past weekend. It was a cold day (and I was trying to get over a cold), so I started with miso soup, which hit the spot...so soothing. As for sushi, I got a salmon avocado roll and a spicy salmon roll (yep, salmon is my jam). Both were good, but there's no beating the spicy sauce on the latter. The menu offers the rolls in one of two formats, either a hand roll or a cut roll. I prefer the latter, but many people seemed to be ordering the former. The hub got a cut Spicy Salmon Cut Roll, a cut Spicy Tuna Cut Roll and a Yellowtail Scallion hand roll. The fish all tasted very fresh. To me, the rice was a bit too gummy, but the hub thought it was fine. As for the menu, it includes both vegetarian and vegan rolls in addition to the array of seafood options in roll and bowl formats. The space is long and somewhat narrow -- cozy, in a good way -- with bar seating and one long high top. The bar was pretty full, so we opted to sit at the end of the high top by the door. The service was prompt and polite, with plenty of water offered. We will definitely go back when we're next craving sushi.

Been here a few times and every time the food is excellent. Fish is always fresh and we never find rogue bones or scales like we have at other hand roll places of its ilk.

Great place for catching up with friends. Small but they usually have a table available. Very reasonably priced. Loved going here before an event at the Bell House.
