Delicious! They give a lot of food

Decent street style tacos, but just okay and not worth the price.

Great service and large menu. The smoked crab taco is outstanding! Can’t wait to go back to try other tacos.

Tacos were very flavorful, we enjoyed all three! Would definitely go back again.

DeKalb Taco and Paella Shack are run by the same people and site next to each other in the Market Hall, so I'm combining my review. I like the tacos here as the flavors are excellent and ingredients are fresh. I do think the taco is a snack and not a meal, however, so I don't tend to nosh here often. The paella here is pretty serious, hefty, and delicious, but the wait for it is on the longer end compared to many of the other stalls at DeKalb. The elote (corn!) is delish and worth it. If you have a taco craving, you'll do well at DeKalb taco.

Only got the tacos, steak and fish. The fish took a while longer for the order to be made but once I got both tacos, i devoured them. The fish taco was especially good and for the price of $3.50 each for two tacos, it was a decent deal. Theres no other place to get non-corporate tacos nearby so this will be my go-to

I am a taco fan, love fish tacos.I've tried tacos everywhere. I also live in-between San Diego, CA and New York so I do know Tacos pretty well. These tacos are pretty awesome for NY standards. Don't get me wrong, from Manhattan to Queens, Brooklyn, and New Jersey I've tried Tacos all over. You name a taco place, posh or not, I've been there. These are some tasty tacos. The fish tacos are perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of moisture and sauce. Absolutely love them.

This is a great spot for a good price...that is usually consistent. I’ve probably visited this business at least half a dozen times in the last 12 months and have always been very happy with the quality of my food. For $11 plus tax I get 3 tacos (one of them is usually al pastor...a favorite of mine) and I think that’s a great value for a food hall. This last time the flavors were not on point...still good but not what I am used to. I will keep coming back because since 5 out of 6 times they nailed the flavors.

Great price and always reliably tasty tacos.

I tried the fish tacos here and left a happy costumer. Fish taco prices keep increasing in the city so I was thrilled to find them under $5 per taco here. The fried, battered fish was crispy and tasty, not greasy. The pico de gallo and cabbage add a bright balance to the fried fish. Prices are reasonable. I'll definitely be back to try some more tacos.

I'm on a mission to try every shop in the DeKalb Market Hall, and this was stop two. Honestly, I was only vaguely aware of the site prior to visiting Han Dynasty, whose Cherry Hill location I had previously patronized. I moved to Brooklyn somewhat recently from an area with a Latinx majority, which offered the opportunity to sample some exquisite cuisine from the region. I wouldn't describe any of the few things I tasted here using that term, but those things were authentic. So here's the breakdown: We ordered carne asada nachos, and two kinds of tacos - al pastor, and pork belly. The nachos were authentically Tex-Mex, even a step ahead with house fried chips, beans that are not paste, and a generous sprinkle of what seemed to be Añejo. The tacos were just authentic. I can see why people raised on Old El Paso, Ortega, and Taco Bell might suggest they lack flavor, but the only thing I didn't pick up here was cilantro, and thanks for that. The pineapple in the al pastor was subtle while remaining evident, and the belly had the texture of a overcooked, braised loin roast. In the case of the latter, authentic doesn't always mean wonderful; any richness from fat had been cooked out long before serving, but that's almost assuredly what you'd get from a street vendor who offered that. Still, everything was as flavorful as could be expected, and I had no unmet expectations. It will be awhile before I circle back, but maybe not a long time, as I'm desperate to try their squid ink paella. They have plenty more to offer than tacos and nachos.

Hubby and I stopped by Dekalb Taco to get a taco each, for him, myself and my son. We were stoll pretty fill from a previous food event but didn't want to kiss an opportunity to try something from the market since this was going to be our, "Plan B", if the weather didn't hold up and since we just happened to be in the area, we felt it was meant to be. I ordered myself the crab taco. I felt like it had a not-too-pleasant fishy smell and taste, like it was canned crab which kind of turned me off but all of the accoutrements were complimentary. Hubby loved his pollo asada and my son enjoyed his pork belly. I would definitely go back and try more because I'm certain another protein would have made my day.

Dekalb Market Hall is a place I like to take friends and family that are visiting from out of town. What I've come to realize is that while there are tons of options in the hall...to folks not used to the offerings, a lot of them can seem intimidatingly ethnic, and the menus daunting. And so I'm glad that Dekalb Taco is here. There's a certain segment of the population that will walk around and see the baos, the jianbings, the udon, the arepas, the kebabs, the paella...and they'll be overwhelmed, paralyzed by all the exotic choices. And they'll come back to this stand for something that's familiar: a good ol' chicken quesadilla. Luckily, Dekalb Taco makes a solid one. One I'm not sad about splitting with a friend to stave off hunger while I convince them to try something less recognizable afterward.

Surprised about the negative reviews here! I had an amazing experience for lunch here today. I was met with a smiling lady (Diana, I think her name was) who gave me her favorite quesadilla that did not disappoint. Crispy and delicious flavor-forward spice on the juicy chicken and some nice instagram worthy cheese pulls. They serve it with a gaucamole salsa that gave just the right amount of acidity to keep you coming back. I also ordered their most popular taco - pork belly. I almost died and went to pig heaven. The nixtamal tortilla was the perfect little bed for the smoky pork belly. The diced white onions and cilantro were great traditional toppings -- no pico de gallo here! I finished up with a burrito bowl that was so filling I had to take the rest for dinner. GREAT value. I ordered the tilapia which was seasoned to perfection with gaujillo chile sauce and cooked to where it was very moist and seared on all sides. I had to slow clap in front of their stand for a good 10 minutes. Searing fish on ALL sides is a labor of love. The cilantro rice was a tad overcooked but was great when I mixed in the corn, beans and tomatoes. A lot of interesting textures and flavors. Don't listen to these negative reviews. Come see for yourself.

Picked up the All Day Breakfast taco (Chorizo, egg) and Baja Fish taco, so I can't speak for the rest of the menu but HIGHLY recommend the fish taco. The battering is light and the way they fried the fish is incredible, crisp, and leaves a great mouthfeel (lol). Definitely one of my favorite things to eat in Dekalb. The All Day Breakfast taco gets a pass from me. The pictures on Yelp list it as containing bacon, but when I went this weekend, they had chorizo. Small bits of chorizo that had very little flavor to it. The taco tasted mostly of eggs. Prices are a tad high for tacos in the city, but that's a common theme in Dekalb. Come with wallets prepared. Service was good and quick. This place was popping when I was there, so they must be doing something right despite the low rating.
