Cool, modern coffee shop with plenty of seating. Great place to socialize. The baristas were very helpful and friendly.

I visited on January 8th around 4pm. The staff member who took my order at the counter was very dismissive and unfriendly. My questions were ignored, and the tone felt rude throughout the interaction. The coffee didn't taste special
Visit for the delicious coffee and linger to appreciate the design, plants and cleaniness.

Cute spot for a quick coffee. The menu is simple and more so American. We would have loved to see some traditional Colombian drinks and pastries.

I came in about 30mins ago and 3 people were working. The lady behind the register was super warm, inviting and attentive- my tip goes to her.
There were 2 guys making drinks. I sat down to wait and after about 8/9mins of waiting, I noticed the one guy on his phone. Assuming his phone took precedent of any customer bc he just kept at it. I waited 12 min for a cap and I will add that it was not busy.
I have no problem waiting if it's busy, short staffed etc but to just be on your phone and try to hide it behind counter like we can't see to continue texting or whatever you were doing ... pissed me off. Only reason I gave 3 stars is because of the woman working as she was fantastic.

Beautiful place to hang out, and people do, which makes it hard to find seating when you're just stopping in for a bite or a sip.
Cafe mocha was bitter but pleasantly unacidic. Drinking chocolate is made with skim, thick, but also bitter, small serving.

Devoción in DUMBO occupies a former industrial shell and fills it with a carefully cultivated idea of proximity. The brick, the light, the greenery all gesture toward authenticity, but the real claim is temporal: this coffee insists on being close to its own origin in time. The beans arrive from Colombia with unusual speed, and the cup carries that haste as a kind of moral achievement. Freshness here is not merely sensory but ideological—a promise that distance, once the great moral obscurer of global trade, can be managed, even overcome.
Sedgewick’s insight, in Coffeeland, was that commodities do not travel alone; they bring with them the structures that make them possible. Devoción seems aware of this lineage and eager to distinguish itself from it. The café narrates its supply chain with precision, foregrounding farmers and logistics as if transparency itself were an ethical end. And yet, sitting beneath soaring ceilings with a meticulously poured cup, one senses how easily reform can resemble refinement. The violence and asymmetry that built the coffee economy are not erased so much as elegantly backgrounded, translated into reassurance for a contemporary consumer fluent in conscience.
Still, the coffee demands attention. It is vivid, clean, almost impatient in its brightness, refusing the muddiness that once passed for depth. In DUMBO—a neighborhood where industrial history has been converted into aesthetic capital—Devoción feels apt. It does not deny the past; it repackages it as progress. You drink, you learn, you feel momentarily aligned with a better version of commerce. Whether that alignment endures beyond the cup is the question Devoción leaves lingering, like acidity at the back of the tongue.
