While the coffee itself was quite good, I had some concerns about the overall atmosphere. The flavor of the coffee was rich and smooth, just as I expected from a well-regarded café. However, the store had an off-putting, moldy smell, which really affected my experience. Long time Williamsburger who treasures Devocion as a near-daily devotee, but sadly I have to leave a poor review given the relentless price hikes. They raise prices every 2-3 months, and even the staff seem to think it's out of control. I understand inflation has been a factor, but 12% compounding increases every 3 months is not the result of inflation, it is the cause. I guess we finally found a bona fide example of simple price gauging. Adios Devocion.
The atmosphere is fantastic, giving the impression of being outdoors while staying indoors—perfect for avoiding bad weather. The coffee packs a solid punch, though it's only available in a single size. However, a couple of drawbacks contribute to the lower rating: the absence of WiFi and the fact that there’s just one restroom for a café of this size.
