A few disappointing aspects that were unfortunate given the food was great.

1. On arrival he gave us bottled water and proceeded to charge us $3.9 for them. Really not on. Ask your guests what they want and if you are just given bottled water it should be free. Felt a bit sleazy.

2. When we put two cards down to split the bill he refused. Demanded 1 card.

3. When we signed and paid. When he collected the bill he opened it in front of us to see the tip.

Just not a New York standard at all or should I say not a standard we should let slide in this great city of food.

But as mentioned food was great.

We were the only 2 people in the restaurant. Quite a few uber eats type pickups while we were there.

I’ve been getting my food from Dhania for a while now, and every single visit feels like coming home. The food is consistently delicious – fresh, flavorful, and made with care. Whether it’s a quiet weekday meal or a weekend treat, Dhania never disappoints.

What really sets this place apart, though, is the people. Mr. Chowdhury, the manager, is one of the kindest and most helpful people I’ve met in the restaurant world. He genuinely cares about his customers and always goes the extra mile to make sure everything is perfect.

The staff are incredibly warm and proactive – they check in to see if you need anything, always offer water with a smile, and treat you like family. It's those little touches that make all the difference.

I have first time seen waiter trying to upsell food so desperately. Bangladeshi guy gave us water bottles without even asking and 2 bottles not just one each for 1.99.

after that he asked me at least 5 time to order something else instead of just bringing what I have ordered.

Too annoying waiter and he was taking someones order on phone and he was literally yelling lady’s full card details. food was okay but prefer to get it delivered if you really really wanna try.

Proud Texan

From Texas With LOVE for DHANIA!
I am from TX where South Asian food is in competition to be better.
6 ****** Rating, Why?
I am an Expert of Bengali/Indian/Pakistani food due to my involvement to provide bi-weekly food to our congregations of up to 500 members.
Our food is mainly Bengali/Indian/Pakistani dishes and some outside items like salads/sweets etc.
I mostly cook the main dishes MYSELF.

During my visit to NY I dined in few restaurants. I never ate in any NY restaurants before.
Dera rest: C+; 3 star
Lahore rest: B-; 3.5 star
Kababish: C-; 2 star
Alibaba Kabab near Bufalo: B+; 4 star
Few fast-food restaurants.

Now the Main subject DHANIA restaurant, A++; 6 Star
Restaurant is Very Clean, Nice atmosphere.
Food came in reasonable time. If food comes quickly then thats not good for S. Asian food.
Cauliflower was fantastic!
Samosas were very good! Chatney awesome.
Chicken Tikka was great!
Biriyani & butter chicken was Excellent!
Naan was fine & soft! Not hard or burned as some other places.

Since I ordered catering for my congregation from many restaurants in Houston, I became an expert in S. Asian food.
Dhania really surpassed my expectations and surprised me in NY.
Wish them the best.
Keep serving the best food!

My boyfriend and I order from Dhania at least once a month. Over the past few years we've been able to try most of their menu and it's all delicious. Staff are friendly and communicative and our order is always ready promptly. Not sure what we'd do without this neighborhood gem!

Everything here is fantastic but the Naan is awesome. We love both the garlic and the plain. This place is so cute and one of our frequent weeknight stops. The staff and owner are so friendly and accommodating. Will continue to come here.

Boring Mom

Extremely disappointed with this restaurant. Not only was the food terrible, but the staff’s behavior was shockingly rude and unprofessional. They charged $3 plus tax for a single roti, which is usually just $1 and naan price is 2$ at any normal Indian/Pakistani restaurant in brooklyn. And for that price, i received a burnt, dry, and badly cooked roti.honestly the worst I’ve ever had. When i pointed out the issue, the staff were dismissive and showed zero interest in making it right. The way they treated me was unacceptable. For overpriced, low quality food and disrespectful service, this place is a hard no. Save your time, money, and go somewhere else.
