Gourmet raw vegan cheese! They set the standard in this area. They have very unique varieties that are impressive. They also have quality raw chocolate, almond butter, jam and other things... Worth a visit for sure!

These guys are ultra pioneers, and I began enjoying their delicious macadamia nut cheeses in NYC back in the mid-2000s when I first shifted into raw veganism back in 2006. Even with so much "competition" on the market, they are still making the cleanest, best tasting nut cheeses available anywhere. I make my own macadamia nut cheeses at home based on a very similar formula, but still make a point to buy theirs when I find it around/available because it's JUST THAT GOOD. Nearly everything else I've found (and avoided) out in the world is full of nasty/arbitrary additives, yet this company continues to keep it real. Perhaps there was one other company (Punk Rawk Labs) doing something similar for semi-widespread distribution, but now they have folded and Dr. Cow still stands. Well done, pioneers! Please keep doing what you're doing, and don't ever change a thing.

store is very tiny and no place to eat.BUT there's a pair of chair by the entrance. Also, if the weather is wonderful, you can also walk to the water. It's only 2-3blocks from there and amazing views in Manhattan you can see :) just surprised the some negative reviews, I know it's pricey as well. walk distance from Manhattan through Williamsburg bridge about half hr. highly recommend to stop by to the store, they also sell vitamins Milk sea salt Also, things you can't find in locals...

We were working outside their shop, excited to be able to experience some different food. We were greeted with a snotty up and down look, no greeting and were told ‘we know you are working but we are working too'. When we said ‘ok. We are here to buy something' they said people had been coming in and milling around. I'm confused who they think they are, aren't they a shop? We promptly left. Never to return. The pretention in this ‘hood is out of control as if they invented living here— and invented tree nut cheese. Could've made a lot of money, we work hard and are ready To spend our money but not here. Not ever.

Was working on a tv show in Williamsburg on the street this shop is on. I was so excited to go in and wanted to try their superfood latte and raw ice cream pops and some cheese. They treated me and my co workers with the most snobby attitude I've experienced in years and we all left. Here is the thing. We support the neighborhood businesses we film in. We have 150 people on this crew and many are vegan. To be so rude just because you had issues with something unbeknown to us was unacceptable and really only YOUR loss. Vegan places are a dime a dozen especially in this neighborhood.. I will spend my money where there isn't pretentious hipsters. Ps I pioneered this neighborhood so you could sell your nut cheese. I will never go back.

Amazing, phenomenal, delicious. How can I give them 100 stars? They're plant-based, healthy, organic, scrumptious. I always get an assortment for cocktail parties and wine'n cheeses because they are as pretty as they are palatable. One thing to note: yes, they are pricey, BUT they are also healthy and tasty and cruelty-free. It is often difficult to find a melt-in-your-mouth vegan cheese that is not too soft and Dr. Cow strikes the perfect balance. Also, the cheeses are fermented and raw. That means, do not buy in bulk and store because they can get moldy (they're preservative-free). If that happens, do not freak out. Just cut the moldy bit off and it's fine (or just don't buy in bulk and store too long - this is on me. My eyes are always bigger than my stomach). Love these cheeses. The truffle is my favorite.

Too expensive for such a small portion. The place is not inviting. A shoebox size shop under the bridge. Wanted to get key lime pie, but decided to go to other restaurant with better environment.

Here is a lesson for you to learn... when a film crew is filming on your block embrace them. We are all hard working people who support the community we work in. Many of us are even vegan and 4 of us walked in to genuinely buy your products. You treated us terribly and were so rude we walked back out. Seems to me people selling nut cheese should probably not be so picky about their clientele. pS I was a pioneer in this hood.. held up and pistol whipped back in the day so you could open your all black pretentious a** shop.

If they have the dill cheese, get it. It's amazing

A local restaurant near me stocks / uses their standard cheeses, which prompted me to check out their store front. I have not tried many plant-based cheeses, but this is my absolute favorite, and they use minimal ingredients. I have purchased their 5-pack-boxed variety of cheeses before and all unique / delicious. Sent some to friends and they enjoyed as well. Store is a close walk from Marcy Ave Subway stop. I was surprised with the wide variety of items / cheeses they stock. The women behind the counter was pleasant and patient as I decided what I would purchase; she also offered me a sample to try. They have their standard boxed cheeses, creative / specialized cheeses, nut milks / yogurts, raw treats, etc. I left with their key lime pie, coconut yogurt, a cashew/kelp aged cheese, and almond milk. Drank the milk straight up, but it probably would go great with their in-house biscotti. Key lime pie was also delicious. I plan to eat the yogurt with some celery and throw the aged cheese slices into a salad. Will be returning next time I am in the area.

Pricey, but they are expensive to make and totally worth it. Real fermented products, not just a mixture of starch and oil. Good choice + have deserts. Highly recommended not just for vegans.
