Duet Bakery and Restaurant

I wanted a nice spot for brunch and drinks so i placed a reservation here, but this place was not it. My waitress was nice at first, even though i could barely understand her. she kept asking if we were ready to order we told her we were all set for the moment as we were still waiting on our cocktails. After about 10m the vibe was off as if her boyfriend just broke up with her. She was very impolite, & rude. even when we said thank you when recieving our drinks and food she didnt even speak look nor acknowledge us. We were extremely uncomfortable and decided to just leave. My date did not even want food at all because he was irritated that we were paying customers being treated like this but everyone else she was serving she gave the upmost respect too. sofood wise i only ended up ordering 20$ frenchtoast only since i was so hungry. It came with no sides just 4 pieces of french toast. & we had the 2 cocktails which were strong but the taste was okay. For example the strawberry Magarita was bitter. You view menu from an ipad & One of the tablets she gave us died and once we told her she grabs it then just tosses the new tablet down all without saying a word. I really should have corrected her manners especially as a server inna restaurant, but i will leave that for Duet bakery management you guys are the ones who trained & placed this lady on the floor. im also sure im not the first person this employee acted like this with especially from her attitude. I still left a tip because Iwas having a good day she clearly wasnt. i did not even bother to make a fuss out of the unprofessionalism i had went through yesterday ( december 8th, 2024 ) we ended up just going to another brunch spot called FRIDAS with the best service and atmosphere total different experience.

I go for coffee almost every day, and this is not the first time that my boyfriend and I are served by a very dissatisfied girl with red hair, the service of other “baristas” is more professional, I repeatedly tell her not to make the coffee too hot and every time I stir sugar in coffee with a straw, it immediately melts, the service from her is bad and she does everything without some kind of minimal smile, which is very important in this line of work.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary there and the staff at Duet made it memorable big thank you to management and staff for your wonderful service and complimentary champagne.

The atmosphere is fucked up, Zhaslan Zhanatov makes the best coffee in the city. The food is distinctively good by American standards. Thank you for the good service♥️♥️

I found the food exceptional and the service was great. Where they blew it for me is with the MANDATORY 20% tip.... This is not mentioned anywhere and I was embarrassed for my date and friend who joined. (it was just 3 people).

To me this is taking advantage of the customer.
The prices were high as it is, but if I WOULD leave 20% tip for service BUT when it is already added to the bill. It is not about a choice anymore. THIS IS FKD UP. I will not return. That "gesture" left a bad taste in my mouth (pun intended).

Why we as customers have to put up with this crap? Go to Europe. It's 10% or rounded up to the nearest dollar.... WHY? Because they pay their employees a fair share. Here we are FORCED to subsidize the salaries just to have a dinner out.

Came here with a friend. We had ordered the steak & eggs and the hash brown ranchero. The steak was perfectly cooked, nice and juicy. The roasted garlic potatoes with the sunny side up eggs was worth every bite.
