One of the best coffee places in the area. There was a long line when we got there on a Saturday morning and there were people working on their laptops inside the cafe.

This morning I got an oatmilk latte which tasted like watery coffee with a splash of oatmilk. Had to throw it out and go somewhere nearby. They also won't do 16 oz. lattes (only 16 oz. brewed coffee) or half caff which seems unnecessarily pretentious for the quality.

Nice place to get a bite to eat and some coffee in Carroll Gardens. The inside is quite airy, which provides a nice atmosphere. I had the breakfast sandwich on a croissant and it was delicious. I would definitely return!

The flavour of the beans is what sets this place apart from any in the area. Definitely the best coffee for 30/45 minutes walk. The 8.4 cortado was excellent, the aftertaste was a little acidic but it was welcome after having so many bitter aftertastes from coffees in the area. The milk work was expert as well.

Came in for a quick cappuccino to start my day. The cafe was quiet and peaceful when I walked in, and the barista was attentive. However, once I sat and began enjoying my drink, an employee started running a large industrial vacuum all around the cafe. At 7am???! I waited to see if it would stop, but alas it didn’t! There are better places to spend your dollar in Carroll gardens, people. One star.

Day 1 - 14 FebruaryThe girl at the counter was very hospitable and professionalTop service and quality ?Day 2 - February 15thThis time there was a boy with a hat and glasses at the checkout, he wasn't very hospitable, the Espresso cost $1 more than the day before and wasn't as good as I rememberedI will definitely return but I will pay attention to who will follow my service

Good service, but the seating is super unconformable and the coffee was disappointing.

The pancakes were amazing and the French fries were very good. The ambience is nice as well and the service is consistently kind.Kid-friendliness: They have crayons and paper and a nice kids menu.

Consistently excellent, whether coffee or food. One of my go-tos in the neighborhood. Have never had a wait for a table in their eatery for brunch, which is always a plus, especially considering how delicious their full menu is!

December 2023:Once again, East One has failed a Department of Health inspection. They have a sign saying "Grade Pending", which means they flunked once and again on reinspection. Seems it got worse, not better from first to 2nd, with a whopping 45 points of violations. "Grade Pending" means they asked for a hearing before being shut down. Not the first time they've been down this road. According to the DOH website, these were the violations found:1) Cold TCS food item held above 41 °F; smoked or processed fish held above 38 °F; intact raw eggs held above 45 °F; or reduced oxygen packaged (ROP) TCS foods held above required temperatures except during active necessary preparation.2) Filth flies or food/refuse/sewage associated with (FRSA) flies or other nuisance pests in establishment’s food and/or non-food areas. FRSA flies include house flies, blow flies, bottle flies, flesh flies, drain flies, Phorid flies and fruit flies.3) Evidence of mice or live mice in establishment's food or non-food areas.4) Insufficient or no hot holding, cold storage or cold holding equipment provided to maintain Time/Temperature Control for Safety Foods (TCS) at required temperatures5) Food, supplies, or equipment not protected from potential source of contamination during storage, preparation, transportation, display, service or from customer’s refillable, reusable container. Condiments not in single-service containers or dispensed directly by the vendor.6) Anti-siphonage or back-flow prevention device not provided where required; equipment or floor not properly drained; sewage disposal system in disrepair or not functioning properly. Condensation or liquid waste improperly disposed of.7) Establishment is not free of harborage or conditions conducive to rodents, insects or other pests. They have the sign posted in as inconspicuous a place as possible.Older review:I walk by often, and the crowds at dinner would have to increase significantly to be considered sparse. The upside is that seats are always available. The downside is that I cannot imagine how any of their food can be fresh with so few patrons (at prime time on Friday night, there was a single table occupied--by 2 people). I would be afraid to eat here, given how little food they go through.Should be called Entitlement One, not East One. They seem to feel entitled to patron $$$ without providing quality or service.Space looks good, but backless seats are really uncomfortable. I assume this will be the latest flash in the pan before dribbling off into oblivion,

The muffin was great so was the hot chocolate, lost one star because the hot chocolate was cold.
