We were seated at 9 PM and didn’t receive our food until 10:30 an hour and a half wait for a party of 2 . Unfortunately, when it finally arrived, my dish was cold. The only highlight was the drinks, which were genuinely well-made. Inside, the music was overwhelmingly loud, and even outside, the vibe felt more like a bar than a restaurant. Honestly, it might be worth reconsidering the concept altogether—this space seems far more geared toward nightlife and cocktails than a proper dining experience. The focus felt more on Taylor and the bar scene than on serving quality meals.

Wow food is exceptionally good! The ambiance, the service, the team deserves more than 5 stars. Can’t wait to check more items on their menu. Today I had the escovitch snapper w/ Jollof rice. Yummmm!

Where do I start? We went here for my brother in laws birthday party. Clearly there was miscommunication between the team from the start because this was a surprise but staff kept coming in to the private room, almost ruining the surprise several times. It took 1.5 hrs for us to get out towers of liquor, 3 hrs for me to get my food - my first plate had a peice of plastic in it. After we placed our order, they were calling out orders like we were at an auction. After my sister gave the waitress feedback, she caught an attitude and we had bubble up our issues to the manager. The towers of alcohol were rum punch and margarita since 50% of the items that were on the menu weren't available 🙄. The liquor tasted so trash. I had one taste and that was it for me. They also served all the drinks in the wrong glass. How are you giving us champagne flutes for rum punch and margaritas?! A shot of whiskey was given in a martini glass. They need a LOT of training. They want to charge big prices for lack luster service. The food was seasoned well but I couldn't wait to leave because overall the experience was HORRIBLE. They never checked on us to see how we were going, cleared the plates way too late and I had to search for cups in order to get a glass of water. Hoping they take this and put some order in place.

⚠️ WARNING: Dine here at your own risk!
My sister and I walked into this place with high hopes and excitement, but left completely disgusted, disappointed, and frustrated. Let me save you the trouble — this is not worth your time, money, or energy.
First red flag: the location. It’s literally stuck next to a Food Bazaar supermarket, sharing the parking lot. Not exactly the type of place you expect when you’re dressed up and ready for a nice evening out. But we didn’t let that throw us off. We stayed optimistic.
When we arrived, we were seated right away (we were even early for our reservation). That was the last good thing that happened. From there, it was all downhill. The place wasn’t packed, but service was still painfully slow. The lighting was so dim we couldn’t even read our menus, and unlike other tables, ours didn’t have a lamp. We had to ask for one — why wasn’t that common sense?
We sat for almost 30 minutes before our waitress even came by to take drink orders. Strike one. Then, the drink I wanted (their so-called “Love in Top”) wasn’t even available. How does a lounge run out of their own specialty drink on a Saturday night? Strike two.
The waitress suggested another drink. Fine, I went along with it. Another 30 minutes later, the drinks finally arrived — and that’s when the night officially ended for me. Sitting on my glass? A bug. Floating inside my drink? Another bug. YES, TWO BUGS. Absolutely revolting.
I flagged down another waitress because ours was nowhere to be found. Instead of apologizing, she looked confused, took my drink over to a brighter area to “investigate,” and then acted shocked when she saw exactly what I had told her. The solution? Not a new drink. Not a sincere apology. Not even a manager coming over to acknowledge the situation. No. The waitress casually told me they were “out of that drink” and asked if I wanted to order something else. Are you kidding me?!
Meanwhile, my sister’s drink tasted like watered-down juice. At that point, we canceled everything — but apparently, our food was already being prepared (even though drinks took forever). When we said we didn’t want it, instead of understanding, they still tried to bring the appetizers out! Then they had the audacity to bring us a check for my sister’s horrible drink. No apology, no accountability, not even a small gesture like comping the drinks to make things right. Just a receipt.
This was beyond disappointing. It was disrespectful. A manager never came to the table. No one cared about how we felt. No one cared about how serious it is to serve BUGS in someone’s drink. That’s not just bad service — that’s a health hazard.
I came wanting to support a Black-owned business in the community, but unfortunately, this was yet another letdown. And no, this isn’t a “bad night.” This was a total failure in service, cleanliness, and professionalism. Ruined celebrating my sister's promotion!
I can’t rate the food because we never even got that far — the bugs in the drink were the final straw. Consider this your warning: eat and drink here at your own risk.

Eko Restaurant is truly a gem in Brooklyn! The food and drinks are always top-notch, and the service is wonderful--attentive without being overbearing. Chanel is the best server ever! She is warm, welcoming, and always makes the experience extra special. I have to give a special shout-out to their lychee martini…it is absolutely on point. Hands down, the best lychee martini I have had in NYC. Whether you are looking for a night out with friends or a place to unwind, I highly recommend Eko Restaurant.
This food is amazing! Bold flavors and a chill vibe. Chanel was our server and she made us feel like family l, ask for her!!!

We stopped in close to the kitchen’s closing time, but the staff failed to communicate what was still available. After placing our first order, we waited 30 minutes only to be told the kitchen couldn’t make those items. We tried again with a second order, but it was still met with confusion and delays. When the food finally arrived, it was served so hot it was barely consumable almost as if it was intentional, which made the experience even worse. Overall, a very disappointing visit. Stay away.

My experience at Eko on Saturday, 8/23/25, for my sister’s birthday was disappointing. While our waitress was very kind, the overall service was terrible. We waited about 40–45 minutes for our meals, which is far too long. I also noticed a large party celebrating a birthday that seemed to get most of the staff’s attention, while smaller tables like ours were overlooked. When the food finally arrived, it tasted good but wasn’t hot I ordered the Eko Pasta with oxtail, and it came out a little cold. For the prices they charge, I expected much better service and quality. The menu is limited, and everything feels overpriced. We ended up spending $400 and honestly couldn’t understand how the bill added up that high. Overall, the food was okay, but the service, wait time, and pricing left us really unsatisfied.

My experience here was absolutely a pleasure (the drinks, the food, the music). I have found the best place in Brooklyn to make a sidecar (IYKYK). Monique was accommodating and Danny was inviting. Please visit you won't be disappointed.

My experience at Eko was great! I celebrated my birthday here on a Saturday evening and it did not disappoint! The service, the food, the drink, the ambiance, the vibes - all amazing! The food is packed with so much flavor - from the apps to the main entrees, I loved it all. And the drinks - that Coconut Rum Punch was hittin'. Kudos to this establishment for bringing the good food and vibes. I highly recommend a visit.

Nice venue, music way too loud. The food was very subpar and goat meat was full of bones. Overpriced. Wait times were very long. Was so excited for a new Nigerian restaurant but I recommend to avoid Eko and visit Festac Grill instead. Very disappointed

I had heard good things about this place. My friend and I booked reservations for 9 pm to enjoy the food and the vibes. I was excited for my friend to indulge in Caribbean/African cuisine being that I am Jamaican myself. When we walked in the music was rather loud and opted for a table further away from the speakers to enjoy light conversation. Unfortunately it made no difference what so ever. Now don't get me wrong I love a vibe especially Caribbean music because I'll whine up myself, but there it a time for everything.
When the server came over to take our order she had to bend over and lean in to speak to us. She struggled to get our order because the music was so overbearing. It was obvious that it turns into a party as the night progresses, but one would expect it a bit later. My friend had asked if it were possible to adjust the volume a tad. The server obliged and apologized, she mentioned to us several the other patrons also complained about the volume of the music. The two young women sitting at the tsble next to us shared they also said something about the music being too loud as well. They too had asked for the music to be turned down, but the request was ignored.
The server spoke to the dj and he looked over at us and completely disregarded the polite request. To add insult to injury he turned up the music louder. This was rather disheartening as this is not what the culture it about. The culture is warm, welcoming and joyful, but this was nothing like that.
We decided to sit outside as our order had come out just before that. The music was a bit lower at first. However after about 20 minutes or so the volume was elevated yet again making it challenging to have a conversation. We rushed through our dinner and left immediately after. I would've loved to stay to soak up the experience and perhaps dance too.

Food is overpriced. Service is not good. A wings platter for $70. Drinks are overpriced and inconsistent: one round is good, next round is a miss. After the food came out we still did not have silverware, plates, napkins or even waters. Asked for water and never received water. Waiter forgot to bring the water and multiple other struggles for what should have been a routine dinner of 6 people. Atmosphere is a C-
