One of The best Spanish food restaurants in Sunset Park 😍 food has flavor and it’s very tasty. I have gotten the chicharrón de pollo with bone in and without really good! The shrimp with rice soup, is off the hook good!!! Tostones, maduros whatever u get steak is Good Dominican Food not salty - just on point!!! Good Food here and eating again thx for your service Buen Gusto ♥️👏🙏

The service was a little slow but the food was great. They brought me more rice and beans to apologize for the main dish being late. The steak with onions and peppers was a solid 10 as were the rice and beans.

I recommend no other Dominican restaurant in sunset park’s other than El Buen Gusto. It’s been open since the late 80’s by the same owners who ARE Dominican so you will always get authentic food. PLUS, They deliver pretty far IF it’s a big order. In indoor dining is always great, place is very clean and the service is impeccable. They remodeled recently, so the place looks brand new. It’s warm in the winter and extremely comfortable in the summer. Great Latin flavors, all their dishes are fresh and nothing is reheated or frozen. I’ve been eating and ordering here for 33 years and their prices are FAIR!

Spanish people read under English ⬇️ Hello there I know you guys want an honest review, here it is 1) I would like to start with great food depending on the chef and your server/waitress paying attention to detail. 2)young lady working there great server/waitress she pays attention to detail other two older women (what I got to say about them nothing great let's leave it at that I'll show pictures better.) 3) reason why I'm leaving this bad review is because of these two ladies they were more gossiping then attending to the people in the restaurant, I sat at the table for 20-30 mins without being acknowledged by these women I had to get up from my seat to ask for service . As far as paying attention to detail, the sever/waitress I told her shrimp with garlic sauce and the sauce they used on the shrimp I would like it poured on the fried plantains, pictures will show what I got. (a bowl full of oil, no sauce I was dipping my fried plantains in oil smh) I was so hype to bring family and friends here but I see depending on the chef and waitress, I need to make shore the good ones are there because they all don't attend customers the same and pay attention to detail the same I will show thru here the difference. I chose this place to try the famous mofongo for the first time and I chose well. The food is delicious and the girl at the counter was very kind answering my questions about the portions and the nature of the product.
Friendly and serene service is really appreciated, even more so within an establishment foreign to American culture. An experience to highlight within the city of modern slavery that we call NYC.

First time visiting since it’s been under new ownership. You get less food, no coins for change and the food is burnt. Whether you buy fried chicken or pork, it’s either double fried to reheat or just burnt meat that is heavily seasoned. No complaints with the rice, beans and tostones.
