We did take out and the Lomo salteado was pretty disappointing. Barely any meat and mostly fries meat was too chewy. However the chicken and rice was good until we realized they forgot our beans with the order.

Family run for a very long time--good to know mamas usually there. Shortbread caramel cookies (Dulce de leche) are solid treats for friends. Love the plants in here. Plesant staff! Good for dining or quick bite. Love how welcoming it is to everyone.

Vegetarian options: Its family run they can answer all questions.

Kid-friendliness: Lots of wife tables for kids.

Very rude guy working the front desk. The food is very good I come back to buy once in a while but the server at the front desk very rude. I got an extra charge for delivery “Tip” $6. I’ve ordered before and they don’t charge me a delivery “Tip”. I asked him why is it obligated he said because it’s far away. It’s a mile away and I’ve ordered before with no “TIP” charge.

(edit: I’ve ordered multiple times and haven’t been charged, only gotten charged with the individual I spoke with that day. It’s not about money it’s about how it was stated. You could have just said there was a delivery fee for my address which is 1.2 miles away instead of saying I have to “Tip” for my delivery. I would have tipped anyways if you would have implied a fee. Also if you can’t deliver don’t offer delivery simple.

I always receive a warm welcome when I come here for lunch and I come often because I know that no matter what I order it’s going to taste great. The family that runs this is so warm, they make it all daily in house (including their special green sauce) and have even recommended a few things to me that I enjoyed based on my order. The chicken soup, chicken stew and empanada are my favorite. I even stop but sometimes to pick up oxtails or chicken stew for dinner. My officemates loved the food so much we have empanada Thursday’s in regular rotation. The restaurant is also full of beautiful plants that make the atmosphere so inviting if you stay for lunch. I highly recommend!

If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience, look no further than el pollo. From the moment you step through the door, the warm ambiance, attentive staff, and tantalizing aroma of freshly prepared dishes promise a meal to remember.

The menu is a perfect balance of creativity and tradition, offering something for every palate.
Service was impeccable—attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere struck a perfect balance of comfort and casual dining.

I don't understand the low grade. The food was great! But the drinks were phonemonal! The sangria and the passion fruit juice are on point.

I being calling to this place 2 nights and a row for delivery I love Peruvian food mostly they rotisserie chicken is delicious I ordered before I never had a complaint but this 2 night the delivery wasn’t here it took more than 2 hours to let me know that they were not coming why because they don’t have chicken done went the person call me back to let me know that it would take 30 minutes extra to receive my delivery okay I’ll wait but take more than 30 minutes so I cancel the orders and sorry for that but I wait long enough

The one who takes the order does not get the order right, we order a meal and he sends another if it is not right, he must be responsible.

I ordered here today, and it was by far the worst dining experience I’ve ever had.
The pernil had absolutely no flavor, and the “Chicken with rice and beans” dish was disappointing—just one small piece of chicken served with a mound of rice and beans. I paid $16.50, but it felt like I was paying for a plate of rice rather than a proper meal. The entire order ended up in the garbage.

My closest friends in the city used to live a few blocks from this place in Bensonhurst (I lived in Bay Ridge at the time) and we got take out a few times for movie nights. This was the first place I tried Aji Verde, which blew my mind. It was one of those sensations similar to the first time I ever tried toum, ezme, wasabi, mole poblano, and other totally unique condiment flavors. I loved it and got delivery a few times myself. However, the food I had from there (including the soup, chicken, lomo saltado, beans/rice, grilled chicken with veg, etc.) has always been pretty bad. So I'm giving this place three stars for being the first place to ever introduce me to aji verde.
