We order empanada papa for our department meetings for a large hospital. Everyone is always so thankful for the delicious, fresh, and warm empanadas, beans , rice , and plantains and the special sauces! We order at least monthly and they have vegan - chicken- beef options and more. 10/10 recommend !

From the first day I tried the empanadas at Hester Street on the lower east side it was love at the very first bite! Jose and Pedro are the best and most friendly brothers you will ever meet. They haven't forgotten me from the first day and I won't forget the delicious empanadas either or them! They make deliveries, cater and have many pop ups if you are ever in the area where their pop ups are. It's a MUST try and you will also say they are the best empanadas you have ever had! They have their own special sauces as well. Some of the favorite empanadas I have had are the beef, egg with bacon, cheese, spinach, chicken and the chicken pot pie! Haven't had that in a while! Hint hint...when is that available? ?? My favorite sauce is the salsa Verde mild. They also have Salsa picante hot, pineapple habanero medium.

Jose catered our office business lunch for 20 people. We couldn’t have been happier. He helped us plan the menu, order the perfect amount of food and even took a change order to up the amount two days before. The food arrived hot, was beautifully packed and delicious. Please note that you can never order enough empanadas. Comunication was outstanding. We can’t wait to do it again!

This is easily hands down in our top 5 best decisions made so far this year!In terms of flavor and texture--all there! We contacted the folks at Empanada Papa to serve as lunch for a company meeting. We got a combination of meat and meatless options (the spinach & kale were a bigger hit than anticipated!). First off, the carnitas and beef empanadas were very well balanced in terms of flavor. The meat was tender and the mixture was the perfect consistency (juicy in all the right ways, but not messy) and was neatly enclosed in a beautifully crispy (and slightly flaky crust)--all these sought-out textures when empanada-ing were fully present here. The spinach and kale empanadas were packed with flavor--we ordered a small amount anticipating leftovers. To our surprise everyone wanted more of these! We also ordered a side of the arroz con gandules (cannot recommend this enough) and the curtido which was a proper acidic component to balance out all other deliciousness.From the get-go, the level of customer care was felt. They were able to accommodate a large order on short notice and maintained such professional and friendly demeanors. We opted for delivery and the level of communication was on-point every step of the way. Shout out to Jose for the amazing service provided!This is a solid choice whether looking to have a meal or hearty snack.We'll most definitely be contacting Empanada Papa for our next work event!

The empanadas were impossibly tender and I found the fillings to be boldly flavored and fresh tasting, loved the vegetarian spinach and cheese as well as the beef and pepper ones. Like other reviews have said, the "medium" sauce is the way to go, a perfect complement that enhances but doesn't overwhelm. We visited their stall at the Union Square Christmas Market.

Empanadas were delicious, I was lucky enough that my employer hired these guys to come cater an employee appreciation event this week. The hot salsa was on point too! Hope one day you can expand to the greater Philadelphia area.
