I decided to go to Essence on the eve of my 64th birthday. I spent over $70. I bought a fish sandwich for me and one for my best friend. It was the smallest whiting we ever had. The two pieces were small enough to put in the palm of your hand. It was dry and tasteless. The chips that came with mine were stale, and her fries were dry and cold. It was very disappointing because I ate there a few years ago and always enjoyed the food. If I visit again, I plan to talk to the owner/manager.

The worse. If your ordering take out check your food before walking out the door. Make sure you have all the food your ordered and nothing is missing . I complained to the manager but he was dismissive and didn't care. Stated he would replace one meal out of the 3 i ordered.

The food is not good at all! I've tried a few dishes on the menu. Fish , shrimp, hamburger none were good. No taste. The fish was tiny and mostly flour. The hamburger was basically a hockey puck. The bartender has no idea how to mix drinks. The drinks are over priced and you're given a small amount with little alcohol

The establishment was very nice. Although I don't drink anymore the bar staff was very polite and friendly. We had an event for the elections coming up and the owner was kind enough to allow us to have the event there. Nice place if you're looking for a drink and some quick food.
Let me say! This bar don’t give nothing for free not even music to sit n relax to while you’re dining/drinking. They have a jukebox which they probably want customers to pay to use while they there and management doesn’t care to play music. First bar I’ve been to that’s so stingy to the point they don’t have a music system. I ordered wings (BBQ) they served me dry stale bbq wings hard as ever with no sauce! when I asked for sauce they say I need to pay for it so I said hell no that’s crazy right there because who serve BBQ with no sauce! Anyhow the drinks were good and that’s all I liked. I’m definitely not going back! No music, I’m a music lover hence one of the reason I’d stop by a bar… Overpriced happy hour drinks (cocktail $11,$12,$13 happy hour prices they claimed) NO MUSIC to relax to i might as well take home the order n play music home n have a vibe. Do better stingy management that is why the place be empty #thumbsdown

THIS PLACE STOLE MINE AND MY SISTER'S DEBIT CARD INFORMATION AND CHARGED OUR CARDS AGAIN A MONTH AFTER WE PATRONIZED THIS BAR! IT CAUSED A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH OUR BANKS! I don't know if it was an employee or the business owner or manager but it was the bar that charged us again so I wouldn't trust going back there again!

We ordered takeout through uber eats nd the food was terrible. The chicken tasted like it wasn't fresh, they refried it nd added the sauce. They sent 2 little pks of ketchup nd hot ginger ales no napkins or straws.
