One of the stronger restaurants in NYC. Nuff said. Safran ice cream sandwich. Whiskey sour. Octopus. Bread. Get everything.

The best cocktails I’ve had in NY. Kashke bademjoon was so good. Mast musir and whipped feta so good as well as Barbari nan. Mushroom Kebab very good. I didn’t like the Tah Dig (Krispy rice) it was like Tah Chin without chicken in a sauce. Will I go there again!? Hell yeah!

Everything is delicious, but takes forever to arrive. That significantly cuts into the enjoyment. Also, the mushroom kebab is a much smaller plate than the meat versions. That makes no sense.

There are some really fun dishes and drinks on the menu. The braised lamb was incredible. If you're planning to walk-in without a reservation you'll need to be sure to arrive 10-15 minutes before open to get seats.

Favorites were the mushroom appetizer, the lamb ribs, and the eggplant appetizer! Definitely the small plates dominated with our party. I can see the hype!

Such wonderful takes on Persian cuisine and the staff are friendly. Highly recommend for a random night out or a celebration. Best pilaf I’ve tasted and the mahi was excellent.

I was really excited to finally try this place, had high expectations, and it was just alright. The whipped feta was kinda too thick, almost like cream cheese? Idk I wasn’t a huge fan. Ordered the Barbari bread to eat with it and it was fantastic, but not even feel close to enough bread for the amount of feta (for two people). Then we had the eggplant & yogurt kashke bademjan - I enjoyed the flavor on this but it was a little too saucey for me. Lastly, tried the short rib and definitely liked this one the most. It was tender and flavorful but the combination with beans was unexpected and slightly weird. Our waiter was helpful and attentive, and the atmosphere was fine. We sat in one of the back rooms so it’s sort of tucked away from the rest of the restaurant. Overall this place kind of missed the mark for me!

I had the absolutely pleasure of finding Eyval while I was roaming Bushwick one Saturday afternoon after I had gone plant shopping. And might I say this from the start of this review ; it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish.Reserving a table here was very simple andThorough to book, nothing complicated; completely straightforward through resy. But I will have to say that you should keep in mind to try to book a day or two before, usually the eatery is quite packed, as I can imagine no one can get enough of their amazing dishesI headed here again on a very heavy raining Thursday, it was a day before the flood in September happened but I was hoping to meet a friend of mine that I hadn’t seen in a while and we wanted to head somewhere nice.As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere with soothing , warm dark interior that instantly connected with my heart and brought me back to the heart of Persia.riendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home.I always tend to judge a place and how close to the home version of food is based on who is eating at the restaurant and when you walk through the door the entire place is filled with people eating of middle eastern/Persian decent, this tells me this place is gonna be pretty good.If there were ten stars, I wouldn't hesitate to give them.Amazing Iranain cuisine, full with authentic traditional dishes. I go to this restaurant and their other locations many times and I can't get enough of it. I am middle eastern and I appreciate a really authentic food. The first time I was here, I didn’t really have anything but their persian tea, since I already ateAfter finally scavenging around with the waitress to finalize our order, we settled on getting :We started off with the lime rose and cucumber mint cocktails, very enriching and sweet. Nothing too light nor heavy, just in between that way it have the perfect opportunity to devour our meals in peace without feeling completely full. I’ll have to say one of the of the tastiest and lightest cocktails i've had in recent memory.First plate we shared was the Komaj Bread with the Carrot Borani. The minute I saw on the menu that, my eyes dropped right to the dish infused with zaffron youghrt, my heart melted ever so softly and knew zaffron yoghurt was definitely something I wanted my taste buds to revisit. The sweet warm honey with olive oil and zaffron yoghurt really balanced each other in a world ___, brought an interesting twist to the carrots, espousing eating it with the Komaj Bread. The kebab koobdieh had the best texture, very sweet and tender that just melted it’s juices into your mouth, honestly one of the best kebabs i’ve had in New york. We also ordered the Half Chicken Zereshk Polo, very tasty and nourishing, really did meet my every expectations to the fine making of persian rice dishes, the taste is still can remember it to this day. I really would recommending going with these two meals.Overall, I cannot recommend Eyval enough - the atmosphere, the food, and the service were all top-notch. If you're looking for a taste of great Persia in Brooklyn, look no further than Eyval! It’s a must try.Lastly I’d like to highlight our friendly waitress, truly she was the sweetest: very positive and polite lady, helped with recommendations, personal drinks and meals she enjoyed, and everything! Was very talkative and welcoming to Eyval, I really enjoyed having her as our waitress. I completely forgot to get her name, but she was an Afghani girl, very accommodating would definitely ask for her when I come back again!I’ve been to Eyval twice now, and I can’t emphasize this enough when I say they never fail to astonish me. Each time they have stunned me with their terrific service and mouthwatering menu. I’m coming back again and again for sure!

My partner and I have very high standards for food, especially Iranian food. This place blew our minds. Every single dish we tried was amazing. They knew how to combine flavors, and create familiar taste profiles with new ingredients. Everything was obviously very fresh. Even the fried onions felt like they were fried the same day!It was so nice that they had hot bread. The cocktails were also very good! Especially doogh and Gin!Our server was super nice and helpful. We had an amazing night. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the noise. Given how crowded the place is, I think it'd be nicer if they had the music volume lower.

Whenever I see good reviews for a restaurant, I go in the hopes of being wow'd, but unfortunately that does not happen very often. UNTIL EYVAL! Wow! Wow! and Wow x 100 times.I was blown away the first time and again the second time. This place doesn't cease to amaze me every time!!! Every single dish is exceptionally delicious. Service is impeccable, well trained, professional and friendly. So much attention has been given to every single detail, even to the timing for bringing out each dish. I so appreciate that they give you ample time to savor each dish and don't pile all of it on the table at once. I highly highly recommend Eyval. It is a precious gem for food lovers and I'll be back again...and again :)

Service was great - really friendly staff and well-paced. I thought the cocktails were nice, but nothing special. The food would have been good if they'd just done... less?I think the cook on everything was solid and each individual component was well-executed, but then they were all thrown together and then drowned in hyper-acidic, really fatty sauces which felt redundant, as if mistakes were being made and then attempted to be covered up. Using the eggplant dish as an example - the eggplant was beautifully charred, but then it was completely destroyed with fried onions/chips/walnuts -- so a crispy fat, another crispy fat, and more fat. Or the octopus, which was cooked fine, but then had this lemon preserve which might have worked on something else, but didn't need to be added to an octopus dish that had super salty green olives and sumac. It felt redundant and confused. The mushroom dish was okay, but could have used more charring/textural contrast. All that said, the rice in the lamb dish was outstanding and after all the salt/fatty/acidity from everything else, having a light, fragrant rice dish felt like a relief. The cook on the lamb itself was also beautiful.I think they have a lot of potential, but I probably won't go back for a while.

I had been wanting to try Eyval the next time I was in NY and man it did not disappoint! Tasty dishes with a creative spin on traditional Persian cooking. The cocktails were particularly interesting. We waited two hours for seats at the bar (no reso so be prepared to wait or book one in advance) and the staff was super attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. Being Persian, they did a great job of explaining and pronouncing the names of the dishes. The barbari bread was great, made fresh in house, great to pair with the kashk e bademjan and moosir as your apps. Heard great things about the salad but didn’t try on this particular trip. For entrees, we had the koobideh which I loved the fact that it was made with wagyu and lamb, so juicy and delicious. The saffron butter was a really nice topper on the rice. We also had the scallop kabob with ghalieh mahi (which the moment I tried that took me back to my family’s cooking in Iran). Wish we had room to try the shishlik (rack of lamb) but that will have to be saved for the next trip. Don’t skip out on dessert, the saffron ice cream was great, esp with the cardamom tea. Overall, fabulous experience and can’t wait to go back. You won’t be disappointed!

Fantastic meal, highly recommend! We shared 6 plates and dessert between 4 people and it was enough food, which came to about only $58 a person (each person had an N/A drink, one had a glass of wine). I’d recommend going with a big group so you can try more.Almost every dish was incredibly flavorful and unique. The ingredients are spicy without being too hot, and tasty without being too rich. Standouts were the eggplant, citrus salad (chili tahini dressing is SO good), lamb ribs (wow), and rice tahdig (perfect crisp and in delicious sauce). The saffron ice cream sandwich was awesome too.Service was great, ambiance was solid for a Tuesday night.
