Pizza is excellent. Clientele is irritating. Took a long time to cut a little slice and put it in the oven sheesh. Line was getting heated. People making pizza were cool. Many children, including me. Carroll gardens stresses me out sometimes.

I checked this place out after seeing it in The New York Times' list. The ambiance fit the neighborhood with young owners, outdoor seating, and even a backyard like eating space. The entire place was well-lit and all the pans of dough were out in plain sight.
You've got like 8-10 varieties of slices, some plain, some Sicilian. There is a hallmark $7 clam slice with lemon, but I did not try it. Maybe another day I will.
I got the plain pepperoni and red Sicilian. Both slices were plenty crispy and delicious. The slice was on the greasy side with a crispy undercarriage and crust. I honestly would have gotten a different Sicilian slice (found out I'm not the biggest fan of the topping) but it was a huge slice. Honestly the Sicilian slice is probably enough to sate a person. It was a masterwork in texture: saucy on top, airy in the inside, and crispy in the floor. Really made it delicious despite my not being the biggest fan of the topping. And they don't skimp on the toppings in the Sicilian. The stuff was just falling off it.
I will also note the customer service was excellent. They gave me new slices after the original slices slid off the tray slightly. The owners have standards from the top, and it showed with their act.
This is a rare pizza shop that I discuss where the ambiance even made it great. Sure they're not old guys making pizza in a place out of 1950, but it was a very positive well-lit space, with a bonus backyard for high-quality slices. Also the prices were more than reasonable, it was $10 for the two slices seen in the pic.

Great slices, both traditional style and thicker sicilian
4.5 honestly. Same lineup daily and s good variety of vegetarian options with Sicilian style garlic cheese sticks. Well worth it for the price and taste. No frills, just good grab and go slices. Other verities available for takeout or dine in

What a classic Brooklyn slice joint. Pretty, dim lit ambiance with outdoor patio. Appetizing pizzas- I highly recommend the Partanna, Clam pie, & Pepperoni. Really good crust - thin foldable and yet it holds all the toppings.

I’ll start with the positive. It’s a lovely space and a great vibe. Staff is nice. But the pizza is bad. Like actually bad if you pay a little attention to pizza. Although probably good if you’re a tourist and you only eat dominos. My recommendation- skip pizza and eat a Frankie’s. It’s amazing. Or if you want a great slice spot go two more blocks and hit Baby Lucs. It’s amazing.
The sauce is way too sweet. Like sugar sauce. No balance. The crust is so dry. Like I was doing a saltine challenge. It wasn’t just me. You know the crust is no good when most people leave them led on their plates. Too much cheese. And I have no idea but I feel like the cheese quality isn’t close to the price point. It feels cheep.
Bottom line, I you like Papa Jon’s go here and enjoy. But don’t be fooled by the beautiful space or awesome restaurant association. It’s just super overrated.
