The bartenders are amazing and so kind but the owner is in uptight loser who got offensively angry when we were offered a shot - normal occurrence for loyal bar patrons. I feel really bad for him but he shouldn’t take it out on his paying customers, really put off by him. New management maybe?

Won't even go into this place - flying a Buffalo Bills flag instead of a Jets flag.
I recently stopped by on a Saturday afternoon with my family after an event at BAM across the street, and it was the perfect low-key spot to grab food and drinks.
The atmosphere really sets it apart—those soaring ceilings and massive windows create an airy, open feel that's perfect for daytime drinking, and the sports decor adds character without being over the top. Despite being a sports bar (I'm sure it gets lively during Knicks playoff games), it was surprisingly family-friendly during our visit. We saw several other families, including one with a small baby, and the vibe was welcoming and chill. It wasn't crowded, so we could sit wherever we wanted.
On this visit, we tried the deviled eggs, french fries, and Sonoran dog, all of which were tasty and came out impressively fast. The drinks are solid too: my Negroni was well-made, and they have well-priced beers and decent cocktails throughout. Daily specials make it even more budget-friendly. The staff is friendly and laid-back, which matches the overall vibe.
Bonus points for being dog-friendly with a sidewalk patio, and the hours (weekdays 3-11pm, weekends 12-11pm) work well for both afternoon hangs and evening plans. Super convenient if you're hitting up BAM.

My friends & I came here for trivia. There were no open tables or enough bar stools available inside when we arrived. A very generous employee offered to go retrieve us an extra bar stool from another restaurant down the block & brought it to us! Really kind gesture & good service. I had the grilled cheese & tomato soup & it was excellent. We would happily return again.

Good times at Fancy Free! After I sat down at least 3 servers asked within 5 minutes if I needed anything. They are very aware and very friendly. The deviled eggs were delicious , slightly smoky , slightly spicy and including a crunch of fried onions! The chicken empanadas were tasty as well. The prices here are very reasonable and the vibe is good!
