Husband wanted a steak for his birthday, so we tried it out. Food was great, there were options for the vegetarian in the group, mac and cheese is out of this world.
This is a low-key neighborhood steakhouse. The menu is somewhat limited when compared to the big pompous places, but the food was excellent, the service was great, and it was an easy walk from our place. We look forward to coming again.
My husband and son have been before and loved it. I was disappointed. Our service was good (just a few things to work on) but the two steaks were not cooked properly. My salmon was dry as the Sahara. The sides were mediocre at best (fingerling, haricot, Caesar salad (bagged salad), wings (awful). We ate, didn't complain, spent a boat load of $$ on a local restaurant.
place was amazing the food and the people were very nice Only one thing , the place had a musty smell to it otherwise its a great place i would go again
We arrived at opening hour and were kindly greeted and served our cocktails. Good strong drinks. We ordered steaks but the waiter had difficulty remembering the nuisances of the order. Food arrived. My Wagyu steak was cooked perfectly, the other steak was overdone a bit and chewy. Poblano Mac and cheese was very good. Caesar salad was poor. Too little business at the early hour seemed to make the staff lackadaisical.
The whole experience was good. The wait was adequate. The atmosphere was good. The staff were friendly and good. They were understaffed but did their best to take care of us. The food was good. I would dine there again.
Looking for a smaller low key steakhouse. Decor was decent except for the TVs that made it a little too casual. Appetizer portion size seemed a little small. Steaks were ok (filet mignon temp was good but the rib eye was slightly more done than requested). Service was ok until we noticed that the gratuity was already added to the bill (20% for a party of 3) before the final tally and then there was additional line for more gratuity. Didn't think that was right. It has potential but it needs to do better. It was just ok.
Growing up in a steak country, I looked forward to a steak dinner in Brooklyn. I asked the waiter what grade of meat was the filet. He told me it was a tenderloin. I again asked if it was a choice or prime. He went back to the kitchen and, upon returning again, told me it was a tenderloin. I gave up and ordered the filet medium rare plus. I asked the waiter if the cook knew how to cook it at this temperature. He said yes. It came out basically well done. He apologize. So I asked for the steak to be cooked medium rare. The next steak came out rare to raw. I believe a restaurant that offers steaks should know what grade of beef they are offering and know how to cook the steak. At $55 a filet it should be great and it wasn't.
The food is amazing. I had the rib eye and it was on point. The sides were good, but there can be more vegetables like asparagus, Brussels sprouts,etc.. The staff is fantastic. They explain everything. The staff is knowledgeable and Express their opinions which I love. They have a huge drink menu from soup to nuts. The atmosphere is fantastic. It gives off a great vibe of laughter conversation and comfortably. The owner cones around to make sure everyone is happy. The regulars are important to this establishment and I was glad to be apart of it. I will definitely return again not only for dinner but for the atmosphere.

The wait staff was lovely… however,…. The place was WAY understaffed. So the food took forever. It was overcooked when we got it; probably because no one was there to take it off a burner. And so I had a lobster tail that tasted like an eraser, a good but small steak, for 60 bucks. And no sides.

One of the best dining experiences! The food was incredible. Wait staff was very attentive. Steaks were cooked perfectly, calamari was crispy and not chewy at all, and the lava cake was the perfect dessert. I would recommend to anybody looking for a great steak and excellent dining experience.

Flatiron Steak in Park Slope delivered an outstanding dining experience, and I couldn’t be more pleased with my meal. I ordered the NY strip steak, which was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The steak had a beautifully charred crust, and the seasoning was spot on, enhancing the meat’s natural richness without overwhelming it.
The truffle fries were a perfect complement to the steak. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and infused with just the right amount of truffle essence, they added a gourmet touch to a classic side. Each bite was addictive, with the earthy truffle aroma balancing the saltiness of the fries.
The mac and cheese was equally impressive. Creamy and decadent, it had a rich cheese sauce that clung to every noodle, with a slight hint of sharpness that cut through the richness. It was the ultimate comfort food, yet sophisticated enough to feel right at home alongside the steak.
What really made the experience special, though, was the bartender Nikki. He is the one who makes the place truly come alive. Nikki was incredibly friendly, funny, and so welcoming, adding a personal touch that made me feel right at home. His vibrant personality and warmth made the dining experience feel even more enjoyable, tying it all together with a perfect balance of great food and great service.
Flatiron Steak is a must-visit for anyone in Park Slope looking for a satisfying, elevated steakhouse experience. Highly recommended!
