We ordered the tocilog, spamsilog, & calimansi juice. The food was well marinated & flavorful! Lumpia Shanghai would be a great addition to the menu!
#ad Looking for a Filipino BBQ restaurant in Brooklyn? Welcome to FOB Filipino BBQ!
FOB Filipino BBQ in Brooklyn is pure comfort – uncomplicated, not too heavy, and absolutely delicious!!! Their BBQ sauce strikes the perfect balance of flavors and sweetness, making every bite a delight. And don’t miss out on the corn cake – it’s phenomenal! It’s BYOB, so don’t forget to bring your favorite ? to pair with these delightful dishes. They also are whipping up tropical shakes. Coconut was my favorite ❤️
Stepping into FOB Filipino BBQ is like stepping into a home away from home. With stunning woven chandeliers, beautiful furniture, and captivating wallpaper, the ambiance is both elegant and inviting.
And let’s not forget their outdoor space – perfect for a cozy dinner or even hosting an event. The cooks at FOB are whipping up Filipino food that’s just like a Sunday afternoon with family. ??
Come for the food, stay for the vibes. Trust me, you’ll leave with a full heart and an even fuller stomach! ❤️?

This is one of the easiest 5 star reviews I've given because it is that good and the food for sure exceeded my expectations of great Filipino food. Raising the bar right here.
For a restaurant that is only open for dinner during the weekdays and a bit of a trek to travel from Manhattan, it takes some convincing to go out of your way to dine at any restaurant in Brooklyn. This is worth that trip. The menu isn't huge, but it has enough variety for everyone's tastebuds or to share amongst a group. Filipino food is known for pork and I am glad their menu is not saturated with pork items.
Let's get service out of the way here. Francis was our server and he is as professional as a Michelin star waiter. Don't give Francis up FOB. Such a friendly person to interact with and very enthusiastic about the food that is served. His recommendations are on point, including the amount of food for our group, although we still went overboard.
We started off with drinks and their shakes ($9) are phenomenal. The creaminess and freshness of the ingredients makes this a must have. Francis recommended the Buko Shake, which consisted of young coconut and pandan jelly, and the Ube Shake, consisting of taro and tapioca. Cannot go wrong with either.
For appetizers, we tried the Corn Bibingka ($12), which is a rice cake with coconut butter & Kesong Puti (Filipino White Cheese). Loved how fluffy the cake was and although it looked sweet, it in fact was not.
The other appetizer we ordered was the Sisig ($15), which is a Filipino classic pork dish. This consisted of sizzling pork, belly, ears, chicharron, and chilies. Get the egg for an extra $1. You pretty much can just order this as your entree if you wanted to. They bring this out in a cast iron skillet still sizzling and smoking and you know it's legit when this happens.
Now onto the entrees. We shared an order of the Fish Inihaw ($27), which is a flounder wrapped in banana leaves topped with Adobong Kamatis (stewed tomatoes). Yes, there's a fish underneath all of those tomatoes and the best way to enjoy this dish is by eating both the tomato and fish as one bite.
We also ordered the Sizzling Bistek ($33), which is a grilled 10oz black angus new york steak with onions drenched in Tagalog Gravy. This also came out in sizzling in a cast iron skillet. If you're looking for a unique Filipino dish, I would pass on this one. If you're looking for a steak dish, then this is for you.
Usually I would pass on the sides, but these sides need to be ordered. In fact, I think one of these sides was the best dish of all the food I've had here. Sides were $3.50 each or 2 for $6. We got the Kale Laing and Tomato & Salted Egg. The Kale Liang is the dish I think everyone should eat. It may just look like kale, but boy you'll be in for an unexpected tasty surprise. If you're sick of eating all of those tomatoes from the Fish Inihaw, then The Tomato & Salted Egg is another great side, thanks to the salted egg flavoring that goes really well with the taste of tomato.
And if you just read through all of this, I thank you for actually taking the time to read the entirety and making my time worthwhile typing all of this out.

Had brunch, garlic rice was not garlicky at all. Packed flavor. Liempo was underwhelming and tough for a pork belly

Never disappoints. Probably top 5 in Brooklyn for me. Solid homey comfort food with a menu that hasn’t changed much since the start. What also hasn’t changed seems like is the price and BYOB. That’s a huge plus these days. Fantastic value.
Try the corn, octopus salad, adobo, Filipino bbq, short rib. Also check out their unique Turkish sister Rana 15. More details on eatingwithziggy[.com]

We come here specifically for the weekend breakfast of Bangus (Bangsilog) and Longganisa (Longsilog). The bangus is big and fat, just how we like it. Grew up in the Philippines and it’s hard to find traditional Filipino food in a pleasant daytime (not clubby) atmosphere. That’s what it’s like back home.
