The ambiance was nice, the restaurant is nice and clean and decor is very pleasant to look at. The service on point very courteous, patient and friendly and in a timely manner. Food was ok, the best part of meal was appetizers which was the calamari which was delicious along with the hot bread they served. My spaghetti and chicken meatballs, too much sauce and meatballs need some flavor but otherwise it was a decent meal for the price. I would definitely go again just to try something else on the menu. Nice location , easy parking.

I like the layout of the store easy to find items but lines are to long.

I am saddened to write this review for a restaurant I’ve supported for 10-15 years. I have dined in and done take out from this establishment. I was a regular customer but over the last few years during and after COVID service has been sub par.On 3 occasions I’ve ordered pasta and meatballs for takeout. When I got home and opened the container no meatballs just pasta! I spoke with the manager and he said just give me a call and when you come in I’ll take care of it. The first two times he did but the third time he refused to fix the mistake that they made. I don’t know if he doesn’t value longtime customers but I can’t be subject to this type of service. I’ve driven across town for almost 15 years to support them and I get treated like they don’t even know me. Unfortunately I have to find a new place to go to which will be easy in Brooklyn but so will my family and friends and co-workers.

Ordered the primavera pasta with linguine. They gave me penne instead and the vegetables you could tell are cooked either in the morning or the day before. For the price you pay you kind of expect that it will taste good and you get the pasta that you want. La villas primavera is way better

Fontanas is one of the best italian restaurants in brooklyn! They have the best vodka sauce, and fried shrimp of any italian restaurants i’ve been to. Totally recommend. 5

Worst shrimp scampi I’ve ever tasted! ? the shrimp was dry and the pasta was sour I don’t know what kind of sauce that was but I wouldn’t feed this to my enemy.

I’ve been to Fontana’s probably 10 times at this point (delivery, ordering for pickup, in restaurant). Their food is always bland. I’ve had from them linguine carbonara, baked ziti, manicotti, the moneybags pasta and fried ravioli. Everything has lacked seasoning. I keep giving them tries because people claim their food is so good but it really isn’t. It’s like they don’t season their food. The moneybags pasta dish is probably the best thing they have but when I had it, it was TOO salty. Today I decided to buy some baked ziti from them, just to give them one more try, and it tastes like nothing. Ziti with butter would’ve been more flavorful. It’s like they just take canned tomato sauce and throw ricotta into it with mozzarella and that’s it. No garlic, no salt, no herbs. Please do not waste your money! This is my last time eating here. Also, why pay so much for fried calamari from here when Hook and Reel is not to far and they’re calamari is 1000x better.Edit: People go to Fontana’s because it’s THERE, not because it’s good. The only reason I’ve been there several times is because I’m usually with people that want a local Italian place to sit and eat in. I usually don’t order and let my friends. They always conclude the food is tasteless as well. Mockery to Italian food!

Now this is Italian! From the mozzarella garlic bread, money bags pasta, to the baked ziti. This place does not miss. A Brooklynite put me on and the rest is history. The last baked ziti had ricotta in it and it was still really good. Classic recipe please. Protect Fontanas at all costs lol!
