UPDATE: I was there the other day again. We were told it would take 20 minutes and it was almost an hour for our noodles and dumplings. Don’t get me wrong, the food is still incredible and I love the atmosphere, but the problem here wasn’t the slow wait: it was the lack of transparency.
OLD REVIEW ❌ What an incredible spot! I’ve been looking forward for this, it’s a must needed spot in Prospect Heights. It’s a great spot to hang out and I’d highly recommend the pork dumplings and the scallion noodle! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I really liked this new dumpling place in BK. We got the kimchi and special pork dumplings as well as the beef noodles. All dishes were really good!
I loved the no-frills atmosphere and the quick service. Looking forward to go again.

Waited 40 minutes for my one order of dumplings to go. There were only two other patrons at that time. Will not be coming back.

The food is fine, but today when I was dining in at the lower table, a customer walked in with a dog, and the dog came up and licked my hand, so I had to get up and wash my hands, and he went for my food. The staff didn’t tell the woman with the dog to leave, but instead pet the dog. This is disgusting and unsanitary, so I wouldn’t eat there again. Dogs should not be allowed in restaurants. Not everyone likes dogs, and it’s very unhygienic.
Dumplings are excellent and beef noodle is very tasty

Pork dumplings were great. Veggie dumplings and fried shrimp and chicken can be improved. I hope they add some side bok choy and cabbage to the menu!

Stumbled into this spot during their soft opening. The signature pork dumplings were delicious and they had an assortment of Taiwanese sodas with tasty flavors! They are still waiting on their liquor license so no beer yet but hopefully one day soon!
Ill def be back!

I had patron the original restaurant formosa in bushwick numerous times, perfect. This second restaurant was disappointing, rice was soft not dry, pork meat was not thoroughly minced, and egg was bland. The layout was crowded, seating area, kitchen four workers.

This place was incredible! Such a great addition to the neighborhood. Fast service and great food. The beef noodle soup was maybe the best I've had: the broth is so rich and the fresh noodles super soft.

Everything on the menu is amazing.
The first time we tried Formosa in Prospect Heights, we ordered pork dumplings, veggie dumplings, chicken, and popcorn chicken. The veggie dumplings were the standout — really tasty — but the order still took about 40 minutes for takeout.
We gave it another try today and ordered just veggie dumplings, and it still took 35 minutes. They need to work on their speed for sure. It’s not a sit-down type of place — it feels more like a fast-food spot — so waiting that long just doesn’t make sense. The food is good, but not “wait around that long” good.
