Had the BEST birthday dinner at Frida✨
We went to celebrate my birthday with my husband and siblings and honestly… we had such a good time. From the moment we walked in, the staff was super nice and helpful and just made everything feel easy and welcoming. The vibe is really good, cozy, great music, loud enough to vibe in your seat but still easy to talk.
We started with the guacamole & chips and the tostoncitos with birria, both so good. While we were eating, Marcelo (the owner) came by and was so warm and welcoming. You can tell he really cares about the experience.
For food, I got the chimi sandwich with birria (so good), my husband got the mondongo birria, it had a lot of meat (he even said it was a bit much lol) but the flavor was really good. My siblings got the ribeye steak and shrimp tacos with rice and beans and loved it.
The drinks were sooo good, passionfruit mojitos, mocktails, and the Frida Kahlo drink were all a hit.
You can really taste the Dominican-Mexican fusion, which I loved, it’s different in a really good way. Marcelo and his team were all so kind and attentive.
We literally left still talking about how good everything was. Such a vibe. Can’t wait to go back.

The ambiance was nice and lively. The music was good and the noise level was okay to have a conversation. My friend and I had the Coco Loco and Sangria with some chips and salsa to start. We were not disappointed with the drinks. They were delicious. I ended up getting a second Coco Loco and she got an espresso Martini as her second drink. For our entrees I got the birria mofongo which was delicious and my friend got the shrimp tacos. The shrimp tacos came with a side of white rice and black beans. Overall, it was a cool Sunday afternoon and we enjoyed our time.

this is one of the best places to ever come to this neighborhood. my mom and i have gradually made our way through the menu and there is nothing we haven’t absolutely loved. their shrimp tostoncitos are incredible and their signature birria is perfect in a quesadilla, atop nachos, or as tacos. it’s perfection.
their drinks are strong and aesthetically pleasing to look at (their cafetini is my favorite while my mom is a fan of their many flavored margaritas). the staff is incredibly friendly and the vibes inside are amazing. definitely give it a try!!
