The breakfast sausage croissant was the best breakfast food I’ve ever had in my life. And i’m not a vegan. Wow.

First time stopping at Garden Carver after hearing about it online! From the outside, you are greeted with a beautiful decorated & adorable tiny cafe! You can tell from entering they put a lot of thought into the vibe. It is cozy, welcoming & just beautiful.
Their display of stunning vegan pastries catch your eye. A large display case of vegan meats & cheeses & quick grab items - all looked amazing. But what I really came for was their breakfast croissant sandwich. It was SO good! It was made fresh & you can tell it’s quality ingredients. The croissant was so crispy & flakey. The egg, sauce, buttery onions, cheese & bacon just completed it. I’ve tried a lot of vegan breakfast sandwiches & this is top tier!
This place is worth the hype. Really amazing vegan - everything here! Don’t skip on the breakfast croissant- it’s THAT good!

This place has the best cold brew coffee and chocolate chip cookies! Great atmosphere and the staff are so friendly, especially Simone. This is one of my Williamsburg coffee shop staples, highly recommend!!

Garden Carver is one of those spots that sneaks up on you in the best way. From the outside, it’s unassuming, the kind of place you might pass by without a second thought, but inside it has a surprisingly cozy vibe that makes you want to linger. I went for the Italian hero, and it was genuinely delicious: fresh, well-balanced, and exactly the kind of sandwich you want to return for.
That said, there was one major drawback: the flies. They were buzzing around enough that I couldn’t help but worry about what that meant for the kitchen. It didn’t ruin my meal in the moment, but it does raise questions about food safety, and that’s not something you can just brush off. If not for that, this would easily be a five-star review; as it stands, I have to give them three. Fix that issue, and this place could be a real gem.
Good spot! Great service and great atmosphere. Had a decent Impossible Smashburger here, though I found the brussels sprout salad underwhelming

Coming to Garden Carver is always a pleasure. The people are great, Carly and Sophia and the rest of the staff are always so friendly and thoughtful. I always feel very well-taken care of.
The establishment itself is friendly and unpretentious and is a great refuge in Williamsburg.
While I'm a vegan, I'd definitely bring my omnivore friends and force the meatball sandwich on them... I'm confident that I would enjoy a 100% conversion rate to a plant-based lifestyle.
Thank you Garden Carver!

Love this place so much!! All vegan, and so delicious and friendly. Places like these are making it so easy to eat well without hurting and killing animals! Highly recommend the sausage egg and cheese croissant.

They serve limited food options, mostly sandwiches, and couldn’t even get those right. They even serve pre-made chips with a sandwich instead of fries. They can’t even make those themselves. The food is just bad.

Waited over 40 minutes for 2 sandwiches. People who ordered before me left because it was taking so long. Wasn’t busy, chef needs to step it up.

Food was nothing special and boring to eat, great texture but lacks some flavor (I had „the best steak sandwich“) bread was really nice, but not really a fancy sauce or something it was all socked into bread - maybe more sauce, more spices, try something new - especially for 18$y BUT to the women with the horse tattoo on the back….just wow really bad customer service, she seemed genuinely annoyed with any customer, taking their order or bringing the food to the table. She even let people wait infront of the counter ignoring them for some minutes without doing anything productive. But always time to chit chat with her colleagues. If you don’t want to work in customer service maybe reconsider your job decision.

I used to give this place 5 stars — their vegan chicken wings are truly the best in NYC . But every time I order one of their sandwiches, the experience just doesn’t live up. The bread is always dry and lacking substance, and there’s never enough sauce to balance it out. I paid $18 for a sandwich that looked beautiful in the photo but ended up feeling soulless and hard to enjoy. I had to keep drinking something just to make it go down easier.
This is my fifth time here, and I’ve tried all their sandwiches. My honest suggestion: improve the quality of the bread, or at least offer a mayo or sauce on the side so we can add it ourselves. I keep saying I won’t order the sandwich again, but I always gave it another chance — I really wanted to love it.
But now I’m done. I won’t be ordering the sandwiches anymore — unless I get one for free to see if things have changed. I’ve already spent too much money here trying to give them a fair shot.
