When I work in Brighton Beach area I always go there to get something for lunch. I can't say that food is always fresh but it is most of the time. Just make sure if you get something that is supposed to be hot or warm that it is hot or warm. For example cutlets aren't always cooked the same day and if they aren't their taste isn't as good as if it was cooked few hours ago.
Fantastic hot and cold bar. Excellent prices. Worthy of weekly if not more frequent visits. Love their "burgers" (chicken, beef, pork), salads, fish,... Get there late morning for their soup before it's gone. Best visited with a crib sheet of names of meats in Russian script so you know what you're looking at if it's not obvious, like a chicken.
