I’m very pleased with the inventive new menu at Gen! The smaller dishes — you could call them Japanese tapas — are creative and delicious. The Mini Ochazuke bowl features small pieces of sushi fish over rice and is a great value. The Crab Bomber is a delightful pairing of warm, crunchy rice and the rich taste of crab. When It comes to this place, I would stick to the hand rolls. I can’t speak on the meany other cuisines this place offers, but I can’t speak say that out of the sushi I would avoid sashimi or raw fish. I had three of the specialty rolls, one tuna, one salmon and shrimp, and one eel and shrimp tempura. The tuna was boring and flavorless, the salmon and shrimp was pretty good and the shrimp tempura was fantastic. The sashimi was flavorless. Stay away from the iced teas or smoothies....
