I have been coming here for three years. The owners create a warm friendly environment. They have a solid breakfast, crispy, tasty bacon, limitless coffee and good home fries.I usually get an omelet, English muffin or bagel with sweet potato fries and a side of avocado. Everything is always fresh and delicious. Their sweet potato fries are excellent.As a side note, I love an English muffin with jelly, eggs and bacon. The salty bacon and sweet jelly combine together nicely.If I do not get breakfast I usually get the mixed greens and avocado with chicken and a baked potato. Salad and avocado are always perfectly fresh as is the baked potato served with butter and sour cream.Last week, I had a burger and it was tender and tasty. The sandwiches I have had are all excellent. The only downside is that when I finish my meal I am always extremely satisfied and full with no room for dessert

George's is one of the survivors in a world, unfortunately becoming devoid of that classic diner. Not fancy, reasonably priced, and having great food and service, George's is reminiscent of the classic great-spoon diner. Warm, comfy, and a great neighborhood treasure, George's serves the classics and then some. I came in to grab a great breakfast and couldn't finish my meal for all the food given to me. In a world filled with over-priced brunch spots and bad service, George's is my go to for some good basic classic breakfast that will not break the bank - you'll feel like you're having Saturday breakfast at Grandma's or rather your uncle's place.

Have eaten here three times and it is a totally solid place. Good burger, breakfast (got the Greek Omelet), salads, and calamari. The meatloaf is ok but not outstanding. Also, the service is incredibly good. Friendly, fast, and thoughtful.The only reasons I docked it a star are 1. it is on the expensive side for diner food; 2. I like Pablo's on Newkirk Plaza better for breakfast.Still a really good place to go and neighborhood institution.

Ordered food for delivery with an eta of 30 mins. I would say it arrived on time. The food was good. Only issue is I thought the Nutella French toast was stuffed with Nutella not glazed with it outside. Total was 48$ for Nutella French toast eggs bacon, pancakes with eggs and a bagel with cream cheese. A bit on the pricy side.

So this was my first time there actually. So I’m writing this review solely on what I saw. There was a family seated a few tablesaway that consisted of a father and 2 toddlers. About 10 mins in, the waiter started rushing the father to place an order (which he already did). I believe he placed something small which probably wasn’t “up to their standards”. The waiter (which I believe is the owner) then came up with this “30 min time limit per table” which btw, was not given to me and I was there well over 30 mins. The father grew frustrated as I would have too! I just thought that was completely unprofessional, and honestly turned me off from wanted to return to that place again.

Good food, friendly staff, nice portions, reasonable prices, and a good atmosphere. Surprisingly, the grits were made right, being that it's in NY. I will come back whenever I visit again.
My husband and I go here often for breakfast or lunch. The food and atmosphere are great. But what is truly awesome is the staff. If you are lucky enough to meet Mike and his wife Lula, you’ve hit the jackpot! They are welcoming and wonderful! Cannot recommend George’s more highly!!
