Really enjoyed the food and the vibe! We had a larger group so we got to share a few of the smaller bites- we especially liked the leeks and the pickle plate! The chicken was delicious but the dark horse was definitely the fries!

Gertrude's is more than just great food- the vibes are strong! The lighting, music, pace of the food, and whole feel of the place is perfect. The food comes out quickly even on a packed night, is perfectly cooked, and portions are huge! The wait staff is simultaneously laid back and attentive, but not overbearing- and never not available. If you think you don' like martinis- get the Dirty Gertie and you will change your mind! I highly recommend the chicken, cabbage, latkes, pickles, salad, burger. Chef Eli is friendly and approachable, and always comes out to say hello to his guests. I could not more highly recommend this place!!!!!

This place is divine in every way. From the food to the vibe to the way the staff treated all of us, it’s sure to win you over. We had the big leafy salad, the seared cabbage with cashew cream entree, roast chicken and the latkes with roe. It’s clear the chef loves what he does because the food is the star of the show. The staff was mindful of any dietary restrictions we had, and were kind, helpful and professional. Thanks so much Gertrude’s!!!

Seated us over 15 mins after our reservation time.Owner was rude about the delay and made us feel that he was annoyed that we were there.Food was very slow and arrived at different times (the waiter did apologize for this).Food is mediocre. Nothing standout.The building and location itself are very charming. And the wait staff was kind. Everything else was bad. Won’t be back.

We recently Came to Gertrude's and had such a wonderful experience. Every dish and drink tasted amazing. The latkas were one of my favorite dishes and the seven layer cake was so so good! Our server Renie made sure that we had an absolute special birthday night. We can't wait to go back again soon.

Needed a spot for some tea time with a friend. We decided on Gertrude’s. What an experience. The house cocktails were on point. The music….nostalgic. Our server (Kazz) was so fun and attentive. Our whole experience was phenomenal. All of the staff made sure we were enjoying our time. The food was off the hook. Highly recommend the Trout. For sure new favorite neighborhood spot!!!

I came here for brunch on a Saturday with a friend. The space inside is very tight, which normally is whatever but it had been raining all day, so it made things a little uncomfortable. I ordered the Best Bialy, but had them put it on an everything bagel. I also ordered the House Salad. My friend had the burger. The food was fantastic. The bagel is served open faced and it’s a huge portion. The vinaigrette on the salad was super tasty; it made the dish taste very bright and fresh. I had some of my friend’s fries, which were also good. They are the thin and crispy type, which I love. I also had a glass of the Muscadet, which was good and my friend had a glass of the orange wine.Total bill was well under $100, which I thought was very reasonable for two meals that included wine. I will be back!
