Delicious food , good service
Great food and incredibly friendly service. Highly recommend the Siga Aletcha.
Consistent and solid food. Been going here for years. The service is always with a smile. The combination platter hits the sweet spot always.
I had high hopes given the glowing reviews but didn’t think it was very good. The place itself is fairly cute. A bit loud. But nice.
The meal, however, lacked flavor and depth. Meat was overcooked. Everything needed salt. For some spice on the side to try and help. Bland veggies.
Dunno if people here just haven’t eaten Ethiopian food before in other restaurants, countries (or in Ethiopia itself?).
The injera itself on which the toppings sit was hard / stale. The fresh injera served on the side was lovely, pillowy, and the highlight.
(They charge more for extra injera which somehow annoyed me given that the food was dead average and the injera on which the dishes come was stale.)
The service was adequate at best.
I won’t be returning. Honestly something like awash ticks more boxes for me than this place.
I had good times
Still great. Be ready to get your hands dirty and don't ask for silverware.
Combination platters are the way to go here. Be open minded and enjoy!

The food is served in large platters for 2-4 people. The food is delicious. Guessing how much to order needs experience.

The flavor has gone down. ?
Unseasoned, probably to suit the typical clientele.
Years ago, this was the BEST Ethiopian food in town. Shame.

Ate here last night and had a great experience with my partner- first time eating Ethiopian in decades and I liked it.
Food came out fast.
Combination plater for 2 is the most cost effective dish, but yummy.
On the other hand, a bottle of beer there is pretty expensive.

We loved it. Everything was so well seasoned and balanced. Servers were very friendly too and the place was very clean, nice decor. We got the Ghenet combo for two and asked them to decide for us what to include because it all sounded so good. The white sangria was really nice too with lots of oranges

Ghenet is by far the tastiest Ethiopian food in Brooklyn - it’s not even close. They don’t compromise by subbing in jalapeños or mustard or other inauthentic ingredients. Portion sizes are generous and the injera is fresh and pillowy.
They’re also lovely and make sure you have a good experience. When my injera was inadvertently left behind by the delivery person, Ghenet sent someone to bring it to me separately. I really appreciate them going above and beyond.
