I order from here regularly. Their biryani is probably one of the best in Brooklyn arguably.
we had a hankering for good Indian fare and our trip to Jalsa did not dissappoint. We were particularly happy to find Plantain Kofta on their menu - decades ago it seemed Banana Pakora was a standard choice at Indian restaurants but somehow they went out of "style"(?). So that alone made us happy. but coupled with the Nadru Malai Kofta and some Okra, Saag Aloo and Chicken Tikka Masala and we were in heaven.
The owner and staff are wonderful
After a long day of travel, my friend and I stopped in to finally have dinner. The service was quick and friendly. We were served by one of the owners, who gave us really helpful recommendations. We got the okra chaat, which was delicious and the owner told us the story of how the recipe came about–involving her son and a rescued pet pigeon! We got the eggplant saalan and the chicken jalfarezi. It was so good and came out fast too. The service was warm and familiar. We had a great time!
Delicious kabab... the best so far in this area

This is the best restaurant in Midwood in my opinion. The food is fantastic. Some unusual dishes that I have never had before as well as some old favorites that are made much better than anywhere else. Even the mango lassi is better than anywhere else. Don't miss the chaats and the butter chicken! The service is warm and incredible. And the owner is such a delight to talk to. I love this place! I'm so excited to hear that they are delivering during coronavirus epidemic.
Authentic in spirit and execution, creative and playful with the application of local ingredients. They care about where the food comes from, their impact on the earth and our relationship with what feeds us. Celiac friendly. Vegan & Veg friendly. Earth friendly. Halal. Went for the dosa and it did not disappoint. The chaat menu is what they're known for and it's phenomenal. Impressive melding of traditional Desi recipes with North American ingredients. The food here is fantastic and the company even better. This is a true family restaurant that hope will become a neighborhood establishment long into the future. We're so lucky to have them here. Go try them out!I
Food is quite good. However, outside they advertised a $5 lunchbox chicken special, which is what I came in for. But then they charged me $6. I contested and pointed that outside it clearly says $5 but the cashier wouldn’t budge. Normally I’d walk out, but I had already waited quite a while and I was hungry. I paid the $6 but I felt quite “bait and switched.” It’s a pity bc the food was good but the customer service was slow and dishonest.
Gourmet Palace was the host of a party we did recently and the venue was perfect. The dining area was clean and the staff were present and helpful. It was difficult not to stay and eat after the party! We hope to see you again soon!
