Very sad to see what was once a thriving corner with great food and coffee become completely dead after the owner raised prices many times and pruned the good menu. The owner might just be the worst restauranteur in Brooklyn having killed several businesses in the name of increasing prices beyond customer interest level.

I went to Guevara's twice in a short stay because the food and atmosphere are that good. The Torta Milanesa and BEC were amazing sandwiches. I love their unique vegan protein options and how much sauce was on that sandwiches. The guava cream cheese donut was possibly the best thing I have ever eaten. The cookie dough roll was massive and so tasty as well. The coffee was good but they don't do refills for drip coffee when sitting there which was a bit of a bummer. 4/5 for service as the first server/barista was great but second one a different day was not.

I absolutely love supporting local neighborhood cafes, so this is a very disappointing review to write. The employees were so condescending, cold, and curt with my friend and I. They aggressively walked up to our table while we were settling in and yelled that both of us needed to make a purchase in order to stay.1. Why did they assume we wouldn’t make a purchase?2. I didn’t see them make this comment to surrounding tables, and if they did, they definitely weren’t as aggressive.Other tables provided emotional support and commented that the employees were known to be very rude unless they know you or have seen you multiple times, which is ridiculous and discriminatory. There are so many other amazing vegan spots in the neighborhood that have lovely customer service — Clementine bakery being a great one and it’s right down the street! ?

I recently got the pleasure to check out the Salsa & Bachata lesson they offered at Guevara's at Clifton location: I highly recommend it for all beginners who are looking to have a great time while earning the basics of these two social dances. ????

Beautiful little fully-vegan cafe! I come here all the time for coffee and the blueberry crumble muffin. They also have awesome pastries, fancy lattes in a ton of flavors, the cutest greeting cards, some grocery items like protein bars and bananas, lovely plants and other unique gifts for sale. I love that they also sell single bananas which are usually perfectly ripe, and also bags of coffee beans. The staff members are super friendly and warm. My only complaint is that I don’t think they offer wifi—if they did, I would work here all the time. My favorite neighborhood spot!

Both service and quality at this place has dramatically deteriorated over the last couple of months. It used to be a great neighborhood go-to for delicious coffee and pastries, but that time has passed. The glaze on the donuts was rock hard, suggesting to me that those have been sitting out for days if not weeks and at $6 a piece, there are so many other, better alternatives. The coffee was sloppy, service rude and the place is dirty. With so many good options around like otway, clementine and commune, do yourself a favor and walk a couple more blocks for superior and cheaper options.

Absolutely wonderful vegan spot! Everything was incredibly tasty, especially the torta and the coffee! The guava donut was a bit dry but still good. I love all the decor and the funky vibe!

If you order a smothered burrito it comes with hair! Made me throw up. Literally we go every weekend and never had a problem until today. The deserts were stale you can’t even bite into them without breaking a tooth. So disappointing.

We came at almost closing so we did not give this place a fair shot. We should have come in the morning to try their pastries and breakfast fare. Instead we tried their empanadas, and the fillings were good. I especially liked the Picadillo. The aioli dips are good too. But they're very heavy and the empanadas are very fried. I prefer a lighter empanada. YMMV My partner also enjoyed a pink and white cookie, but it wasn't particularly noteworthy. We might give this place another chance someday but Brooklyn has a lot of excellent options.
