The food was absolutely delicious, with a lot of surprising and successful experimentation on Greek staples like the moussaka. The atmosphere was sophisticated and warm, and the staff knowledgeable and not looking to rush you out the door. Couldn’t recommend more highly. Just go!

My second dinner at Gus and Marty’s was excellent, somehow even better than the first. At this point, I’ve tried almost the entire menu. Highlights include the taramasalata, whipped feta, crispy anchovies, gigantes, octopus souvlaki and the gyros. My favorite dish was the moussaka though — that will be a must-order anytime I’m there. Their wines are fun and delicious and the space is lively but comfortable. I have a feeling this is a place I’ll be coming back to for many years to come.

Such a fun new spot in Williamsburg! Perfect for a neighborhood staple, or group. The dips are so fun to share and all the mains we had were delicious. Inviting and great service - can't wait to go back!

just to highlight another review: “I’m afraid it’s another aesthetically pleasing place for an artsy crowd with truly mid food.”

food was good. but why skewers w no fries or pita, why “Mezze” on the menu for $12 per dip, thats not mezze, thats dip and bread, no variety of small plates. beautiful service, but almost felt strange given the “home cooked” vibe it wanted to give. food needed salt.

astoria greek food remains untouched.

One of the best meals of my year. We had the pita with dips, greens, potatoes, lamb riblets, feta saganaki, and the whole fish with several different wines. Not a missed step in the bunch coupled with great service. Congratulations to the owners, this is well worth going to!

So wanted to like this place. I’m afraid it’s another aesthetically pleasing place for an artsy crowd with truly mid food. Dip spreads and pita are great, though one of the dips is a whipped feta of sorts. It’s cold and is just a lot of feta. Bizarre. Not nearly enough pita to finish the dips so just fall right into the trap and get the second order. Shrimp were fine. Gigante beans lacked any noticeable flavor. Maybe a hair spicy? Tomato sauce was watery. Salad with feta fell completely flat. It was screaming for salt, or any noticeable flavor. Big tomato slices watered down the whole dish. Whole fish was excellent but a robbery for $54. Lemon potatoes might have missed the lemon station. Just oily. And kinda hard. Uff and the wild charred green. Unfortunately those need to be anything but bitter (which is hard to achieve), but they were inedibly bitter. It’s early for this spot! Give it a try. We might have missed. You could potentially hit.

This new Greek restaurant hits on all fronts. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. I think the entire staff at some point said hi or checked in. The spot is chic and has a great selection of Greek wines including a few skin contact wines. I can't wait to come back and try other dishes on the menu. Each dish was a fairly modern take on Greek classics like their moussaka and svoulaki. Gus & Marty's, the new hidden gem of North Williamsburg.

I can’t sing enough praises about Gus and Marty’s. My fiancé and I hosted our engagement dinner there for 9 people and we had their prefix menu which is basically a tasting of all the best. Both of our families raved about the food while we were eating, every course brought out in a perfectly timed manner. The service was exceptional and our waitress was so kind and attentive. We truly had such a beautiful dinner and made amazing memories. Gus and Marty’s was the perfect place for us. The food, the ambiance, the service, Chef’s kiss. Thank you so much for having us!!

This place is incredible! The ambiance is simultaneously warm and chic; the food was delicious (the pita and roasted eggplant dip were particularly excellent, as was the whole grilled fish); and the service was great. Also loved their assortment of Mediterranean wines. Very glad to have them in the neighborhood!
