Yo!!!! This place is so good. The host or maître D or whatever you wanna call him was like the most gracious person ever! Treated me and this hot girl that I’m currently seeing like we were family. Offered us some free Uzo drinks, which I’ve never had but now I’m throwing back like a bottle a week! Anyway, the food was off the hook. Please, please please don’t even get me started on the riblets!! I probably crushed like four orders spent my whole paycheck. Worth it!

Absolutely impeccable Greek food & wine. Yummiest pita & dips, freshest octopus and seafood, and do not miss the desserts. I love the lively neighborhood atmosphere and cute playlist.

Go to Gus and Marty’s! The atmosphere is warm and inviting—it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. The spanakopita was incredibly flavorful, the fresh-baked pita absolutely divine, and the charred eggplant—unforgettable! As vegetarians, we were thrilled with every dish we tried—special shoutout for the gigantes! So many standouts on the menu. The whole experience was relaxed, delicious, and truly memorable. Cannot recommend Gus and Marty’s highly enough!

I needed a place to take my visiting parents - a place that was ethnic, authentic, reasonably priced, and a great ambience...not too quiet and not too loud that the elders could not hear. Tough criteria ! And Gus and Marty's delivered on ALL of the above. The food was beyond expectation, especially the meze platter to start and the whole fish. The staff was attentive, helpful, and great natured...and even the owners, Demetri and Sarah, both made it by our table at one point to check in on everything. I will return.

My new neighborhood favorite. Staff are lovely and the whole branzino is the best fish plateI’ve had in NYC.

We ordered the whole fish. The fish came drowned in olive oil and capers overwhelming the taste of the fish and leaving a terrible aftertaste. We skipped dessert and paid and left the restaurant. a A few hiurs later both of us got stomach sickness.

Beautiful location right on the park. We came in on a Saturday night and it seems to get pretty booked and busy around 7:00, but we were able to do a walk in at 5:30 and it was perfectly calm which is what I was looking for. Pita is crazy soft and comes piping hot (refills for free! that is really something). We tried the eggplant dip, saganaki, chicken and lemon potatoes, and the lamb ribs. Lamb was beautiful, chicken was beautiful, lemon potatoes are probably a must try. I wish the saganaki had a little more honey on it! Their house hot sauce is good too. All in all a charming place.

Great service and staff, from host to waiter and runner. The food is amazing and special, we had the riblets which were phenomenal, the grilled octopus, and the gyros. All so great. Definitely recommend and will be back!

SO delicious. I will be running back. The Greek salad is so fresh, the moussaka was incredible, and the mocktail was one of the best I’ve ever had! Prices are really fair considering the portion quality and size. One of my new fav restaurants in Brooklyn!

Thank you Chef!

I cannot say enough about the wonderful dinner we had at Gus and Marty’s Greek Restaurant in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It all began with the reservation process. It’s a gift to be able to alert the chef when going to a restaurant when a guest (or two) has food allergies. This makes the dining experience better as well as giving the chef time to think about how to adjust ingredients on the menu to client’s food allergies. Our waitress, Ashley was incredible in every way. She was prepared when we entered the restaurant to review not only our food allergies but how the chef could adjust our order to reflect both our food needs and also our culinary experience. Some restaurants would shy away from a client that could not eat dairy, mushrooms, pineapple, meat, or eggs which one of our friends have, as well as my gluten intolerance. The other two in our group had no food problems except deciding what to order from the very exciting menu, Greek food with some twists. Chef Pete made it all happen.Sauces were served on the side when necessary and substitutes were provided so no-one missed out on a course.
To begin, we were very impressed with the variety of Greek natural wines. We were not familiar with any of them but at Ashley’s suggestion, we selected the Stiianou Great Mother Amber, Vidiano 2022. It is from Crete, one of our favorite islands and we loved her suggestion for wine. For starters, we ordered the Trio of Meze- including the Taramasalata drizzled with caviar, the tzatziki’s, and the charred eggplants. The 4 of us shared this, but two without allergies enjoyed the gorgeously prepared hot pita bread, made right there in the wood stove. The dairy free person had fagicoio bread, and I was given fresh vegetables for the dips in lieu of bread. Every dip was yummy, a little taste sensation for the mouth. We also shared grilled octopus that melted in our mouths. It was better than the octopus I have had anywhere. We had two orders of grilled Sardines as well, which were delicious. For our main course, we shared the lemon chicken and the charred whole Branzini, also outstanding. Our vegetable side was gorgeous, tasty, blistered peppers. We were so incredibly full that we could not finish the chicken despite everything being perfectly prepared and beautifully presented.
Of course, we still managed to save just enough room to taste their traditional Baklava, Olive Cake, as well as their fresh vanilla ice cream with strawberry sauce. Again, telling each of us, which we could eat based on food allergies. We also found out that their olive oil actually came from their family farm in Greece- wonderful! The waitstaff and host were all attentive, knowing when to approach and when to give us space to savor our meal. The four of us were talking about a return booking even before leaving the restaurant.

The restaurant itself is well designed and inviting, with a modern looking open kitchen, featuring a huge wood stove, placed between the indoor seating areas. They also have a number of outside tables. We hear it is already a neighborhood staple, but for us, taking the L train from Manhattan to the first stop in Brooklyn will make it a regular spot for us as well. The staff all seem to love working there, a very high compliment. They shared that the photographs you see on the wall are all several generations of family photos, of the proud owners. Dining here is like being at a grandma’s or aunt’s house for a delicious family meal. You must experience this amazing restaurant.

Gus and Marty’s is a MUST try. The ambiance is relaxed but sophisticated and the food is to die for. Best pita I have ever had and they were generous with it! The eggplant dip and lemon potatoes were my favorites but you can’t go wrong. Lamb riblets, spinach pie, and octopus were all incredible as well. Our server Alex was friendly and attentive. We were visiting from out of town and will try to make it here every single time we’re in Brooklyn

Gus and Marty’s is easily my new favorite in Greenpoint. The lemon chicken and potatoes are perfect, and the house-stretched pita with dips (that whipped feta…) is worth the trip alone. Everything feels thoughtful—great food, great space, great energy. Already planning my next night there.
