Wide variety of bagels 🥯 (including specialized bagels for holidays, like green bagels for St. Patrick's Day) that are all made on the premises daily beginning around 1 am! Frank, the owner, is there at that time making the bagels and is there EVERY DAY, no matter the weather. All of the staff are pleasant and approachable. It really is a family atmosphere. When you go, tell them I sent you😎

Visiting NY, staying with a friend in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. i arrived at H & L between breakfast & lunch. 2 customers ahead of me. I got 2 everything & 1 sesame “flagel.” (flat bagel & they were huge) & a 1/2 lb container of vegetable schmear 🥯. Prior to this, I was unaware of flagels. When split & toasted, it accommodates a lot of topping. I’m sure they are typically used for sandwiches. Soft in the center, nice crunchy chew. the veggie cream...

Oh this place is a keeper. Early breakfast? Early Lunch , they have it all!
