Excellent food! The cocktail I had was also great, a mix of elderflower liquor, sesame oil and egg white. Very fresh and original. The waiter we had was amazing, so was the rest of the staff! Would definitely reccomend!
This is definitely not average Korean restaurant, it is so contemporary that you get hint of it's Korean heritage only by reading menu (for better or worse). The place, if I am not mistaken it is mentioned in Michelin Guide, but in my opinion worth a star. The food was delicious and although by the end I was so full I couldn't stop eating until the plate was clean. Kalbi jjim which is short ribs and Bulgogi were out of this world! Again I have failed to try their dessert, but definitely will make another trip to this place, hopefully getting chance to try them. The place is very popular so reservation is recommend.

Excellent food overall. The beef bulgogi was over the top delicious! As well as the scallion pancakes. Spicy pork was also fantastic!! Reservations highly recommended

My husband and I have been to Haenyeo approximately 3-4 times at least. We have tried different items on the menu. I especially like the Dukboki Fundido, Suun Dubu, Ojingo Bibimbop and the Bulgogi. It saddens me that they no longer serve the seafood bouillabaise because it’s one of my favorites. From the dessert menu, we had the beignets and the warm chocolate cake — both equally good. We’re not big on alcohol so we haven’t tried any of their cocktails.
The restaurant was full every single time we were there and the space is not that big so it felt a bit crowded. But the service was fast and efficient and we didn’t feel hurried.
We would definitely go there again.

Truly disappointing experience. My girlfriend and I had high expectations of this restaurant, given the restaurant markets itself as a Korean / New Orleans fusion and we love both cuisines, but the reality was a big let down.
We ordered the ddukbokki and the bulgogi and we were very disappointed. The rice cake was not chewy, the sauce tasted horrible (tasted like someone just mixed gochujang and water), and the dish tasted worse than what we could buy for <$10 at the H-Mart clearance rack. Similarly, for the bulgogi, I’ve made better defrosting Trader Joe’s bulgogi, and that didn’t leave me with a $40 hole in my wallet. Also, what’s up with serving only 2 sets of ssam for the bulgogi?
Generally, extremely disappointing experience and if you’re looking for good Korean or Korean fusion, there are a million better options throughout the city. Terrible food, mediocre service, overpriced with tiny portions, but the vibe is fine if you’re looking to get together with friends around the Park Slope area.

One of the best meals I’ve ever had!!! Can’t recommend highly enough. The food was mouthwateringly delicious, the staff were lovely and the atmosphere is cozy and sweet. My new favorite place in Brooklyn!

If you’re desperate for Korean food and want something close by in park slope then this place will satisfy your cravings. However the food is extremely overpriced for what it is. The staff is super nice and the food comes out very quickly which I appreciate. But if you want good Korean for half the price I suggest you go to koreatown in Manhattan. You will easily spend $200 for not so much food. The quality is pretty good but there was nothing special about the bulgogi for ex, which you can get at hmart for $10 and cook yourself for the amount they give. Except they charge over $40. If you’re in the mood to try something new, bored and want to just get a few apps with a drink then this is definitely a good place.

I wish I came to Haenyeo earlier on because I’d hands down say this is the best restaurant in Park Slope. The vibe inside, the staff, and the food are up to standard with some of the best restaurants in the city. Some standouts are their kimchi and bulgogi but I really didn’t have anything that was below average. I 100% will be back soon, hopefully when people are in town so we can show them some delicious food. Would highly recommend if you’re in the area (or even outside the area and are reading this).

High cost for non authentic but not really fusion type Korean food. Portions for the sides are small. Very generic Korean food dishes you can find at any restaurant sold for extreme prices.

Atmosphere and service was fantastic but the food delivery is not great. The galbi ribs we ordered was burnt. Not sure why they didn’t double check the food if it was burnt before serving it.

The food was solid but pricey for the quality and portions. For example, the bulgogi was good but not better than something I had just in a casual takeout place, so the premium didn’t feel justified. However, their kimchi is extremely delicious.

Damn. Solid 9/10. Food, drinks, and desserts are good. Galbi is so tender and soft. You can eat a whole bowl of rice with the sauce. Curdo is fire. The baked oysters are ok. I rather them be served fresh. We ordered two desserts! The staff were all friendly. My friend and I had a great time. For everything combined, the price is reasonable too. Very happy with this spot.
