Comfortable place with quality cocktails, a good beer selection, and friendly bartenders. And if you're an expat Patriots fan, this is the place to go in Brooklyn for games.

Just Rian was the worst bartender that I can have on my life. He lost my debit card and he charge things that I didn't order to my card.
During the whole night he was complaining about been the only one who was working when there weren't to many people at the bar. He was arguing about making cocktails to the rest of the party and at the beginning of the night on my first order I asked him to close my tap. He just ignored me and said that he will keep it. I just left it be to avoid troubles but then he charged on my card without giving it to me.
At end I had to call my bank cause I had charges that I didn't make.

An Irishman told me this is the best pint of Guinness in the five boroughs. Great space. Lively staff and good food. Don’t over think it.

Halyards is a great place with a great staff in a great people with a great environment with great music and even a clean restroom.
Check out one of the best free comedy shows in New York at 8:30 on Friday nights.
You might as well go to the open mic right before it to see some of the best up-and-coming comics.
Also check out Derek Snipes' open mic on Tuesday nights. He's a great guy hosting some great comedians.

We had a party in the back room and it was super convenient and the staff were great. Hosted about 15 in the back room and were thrilled to only be charged for a food/beverage minimum. Many other spaces nearby are far more expensive. We also liked being able to bring our own food in. We did order pizzas through them, but would maybe recommend just bringing your own. They weren’t super great, but definitely accomplished their goal of feeding the kiddos and soaking up some booze. Cocktails were great (get the thin ice)! Service was speedy and we really loved the privacy of the back room. Definitely a great option for hosting.
Parking: Lots of easy and free street parking around here.
Wheelchair accessibility: The ramp for the side door was great for a family member who needed it.

Great low key bar with a pool table, in an interesting neighborhood still fairly unspoiled by gentrification
Pool players 10/10 respectful on a Friday night. Cheaper drinks. Comedy shows. Great place overall
