Had a wonderful meal here during a work trip. Small but perfectly formed little spot! Bonus was reminiscing re all the foodies spots we miss from stumptown with fellow portlander and now hart's staff member, Lily.

Great spot! The food is delicious and the service is attentive. The wine selection was fantastic as well. The atmosphere is cozy in this small restaurant. My favorite dish was the wax beans with salsa tonnata and anchovies

Most dishes except clam toast polish panceda were awesome. Clams were bit too tiny with not much of meat in it. Atmosphere was good. Service was great.

I’m glad I got to try this restaurant. Located right next to the S train, Hart’s is a seafood, olive oil, simple menu focused eatery.

I appreciated the quality of the olive oil and the bread. The lamb burger was pretty damn good too. The tomato salad was one of the best I’ve had. A bit too pricey for the food and quantity, but hey, I’d come back again.

Loved everything about this place! The food was uncomplicated in the best way - fresh, straightforward, and delicious. The clam toast and gem salad stood out as particularly incredible. It's a great place for a date or small group to share plates so you can try a lot of different things! The atmosphere is cozy and cute, and the service was great. We will be coming back here regularly!

has definitely lost quality and service -- food was overcooked (beef burger, trout), unbalanced (cucumber with scallops). staff seemed rushed and limited descriptions of menu, wines. place is loud and crowded but did much better in past. clam toast was best of menu (but not exceptional).

The food is almost always really tasty but I did not have a great experience service and atmosphere wise the last time I went.

We went for the peak summer tasting menu and immediately the servers seemed stressed and overworked. I got seated at the middle seat in a communal table which is against a wall, causing the person sitting to my left to have to awkwardly move behind me to use the bathroom or leave their seat. There also wasn't a lot of friendliness or warmth service wise.

They forgot the corn that listed in our dish but everyone else around us seemed to get it, which was confusing. And to add to it - the server knocked over one of our wine glasses, which happens but there was not a comped drink or discount offered on our bill, which didn't seem professional, especially spending over $150 per person with tax.

Maybe it was an off night but I'm not so motivated to return when you can go to multiple restaurants with very good service and less chaotic atmosphere in close proximity.

Most of the dishes didn't make sense and lacked flavor. The mackerel was good, but nothing to write home about. It felt like gentrification at its finest as we ate pretty average food and watched the servers lock the door as people would come in and out. Won't be returning.

A very tiny restaurant with a small but high quality cocktail and wine list. Food was good and felt fresh. Highlights were the butter beans with mussels and salsa verde, the asparagus with poached egg, ricotta and radishes, and olive oil cake with rhubarb.

- frisee salad
- potato salad
- Spanish mackerel
- pork Milanese
- ricotta
- sourdough bread
