I didn't want to post any bad reviews but reading the comments didn't resteain. Your barista guy IS rude and tired. I understand it's hard to find personnel but there are still plenty friendly people out there looking for job who know how to make coffee and love to read. Dude needs more rest

Not a bad place, but for a venue that is about contemplation (no laptop work, no wifi), seating is extremely uncomfortable and can’t say the music and ambience particularly inspiring. Coffee was ok if not barely warm. Overall, won’t come back.

Head Hi is a community focused shop dedicated to bringing people together to learn about music, photography, architecture, sculpture, writing, etc. Their atmosphere is beautiful and peaceful and filled with opportunities to read and explore. Staff are kind, service is thoughtful and intentional, pastries and coffee are excellent.

Went in yesterday to grab an iced coffee. I specifically ordered an Iced Vanilla Mocha with oat milk and the guy took my order and proceeded to make my drink.

Mind you the coffee was $7.89 - Very overpriced already.

I see him pouring regular milk, and I say hey is that regular milk and he says yes, and I tell him oh I wanted oat milk please. He responded to me, "That'll be extra" .... and I'm just like ok. I don't mind paying an extra .50 or .65 cent for oat milk.

At this moment I can tell he's a little flustered with me, but I'm being so nice and I know what I ordered because I’m lactose intolerance.

I then browse around the store and a min or two passes by and my "Iced coffee" is ready. but then I look at the coffee and it's hot. and now I'm replaying the ordering process in my head once again and I'm 1000% sure I ordered Iced coffee. Like there's not a doubt In my mind. I literally don't drink coffee unless it's iced.

So I politely say hey this is supposed to be Iced, and he looks at me and says maybe you should communicate that better, first the oat milk and now you want it iced.

He then tries to back track and tell me he can re-make it but also he mumbles something under his breath.

I simple tell him "You know what, it's ok" and I leave the establishment. I honestly couldn't even deal with the disrespectful attitude any longer and the thought of him for a 3rd time attempting to get my very simple order correct just baffled me.

I haven't dealt with such a rude and snobbish attitude in a while and this being my first time in the coffee shop left a horrible taste. Wasted $9 and surely will not be back.

very snobbish. a coffee shop in the 21st-century that doesn’t allow laptops or cell phones?! They even have a sign saying you can’t take pictures of any of the books they have on display because they don't want you buying them elsewhere? Just seems pretty petty and controlling to me. UPDATE: their response below is even more of the same... and yes, no duh, I will move on. I'm writing here to warn others who might not want what you do. good luck.

I’ve been here a few times since arriving in the neighborhood and it’s always great. They have a great selection of books and some nice candles etc as well. The coffee is great and so is the chai. Everyone is friendly and helpful.

great space for a slow coffee or to shop for gifts / books - not a good spot if you’re looking to get work done (no laptops or calls) but I still grabbed an iced coffee and worked across the street!really love the space and shop, so definitely recommend coming on a weekend or if you’re catching up with someone

Aesthetically pleasing and cool idea of a book & coffee shop but no phone, laptop or tablet use

LOVE DOVE

Not a fan of their chai latte but the location is convenient for headinf to or from the ferry

Would have loved to become a regular here as it’s right by house. I went in to try it and asked to use the restroom first, as I like to wash my hands before consuming food or beverages. I was informed that I would have to buy something first before I could access the restroom. I went in fully prepared and planning to purchase something but the barista literally looked me up and down and made a disgusted face accompanying the rudest tone I’ve ever encountered while informing me of the policy. It was really gross tbh. Good luck getting customers with such an attitude.
