A super fun place to visit in Brooklyn. The frozen Paloma is a winner. You can’t go wrong with the crawfish Mac and cheese. Some nights it’s karaoke. Some nights it’s trivia. It’s always something fun happening. Highly recommend this location!

This bar/restaurant is right on the corner, off the Jefferson L stop. I stopped by for dinner with my date on a Monday night. The place is surprisingly big - the back area has pool and a whole outdoor area. Since it was Monday, the back area was dead, but the front had a steady enough crowd, keeping the place always a little more than half full. Very casual vibe, maybe a little distracted service at times, but really friendly. We ordered the crawfish Mac and cheese, crawburger, and the catfish po boy. All were good! The Mac and cheese had some big pieces of fish and was definitely the standout item. Love this spot!

This place is just okay. We decided to go there because we were early for our night out at the Sultan Room next block. We thought we could have a few drinks here before heading over. But let me tell you, it was not a good decision at all. When we walked in, we asked the waitress for a table and she responded in the most unpleasant tone, saying we could sit wherever we wanted. Then, when I tried to place an order for food and drinks, that lady made us go from one end of the bar to the other with some stupid excuse, and that's when I had enough. I told my friend to take care of the order and drinks from that point on. And speaking of drinks, they were a total disappointment. I ordered a hotty toddy, a lemon whiskey cocktail, and an IPA beer, but none of them were good except IPA beer lol. I mean, sure, I could drink them, but they were far from being enjoyable. The fries were hot, I'll give them that, but the tater tots and the burger were just not a good choice. I mean, seriously, how hard is it to get the tater tots right? I stopped by here on a chilly Saturday night for a beer. I got their house beer which I didn't really like. The place had some good music in the background. The bar was fairly quiet and uneventful.Kid-friendliness: This is a bar, so not necessarily kid-friendly.

If you're in the mood for a stick to your bones burger and fries with that pint, this is the neighborhood spot for you. Their tequila selection was limited, but they did carry a decent Madre mezcal that "smoked" the spicy mayo fries from my palette. One important note that we didn't immediately realize (oops) is that there is no table service, so make sure you order everything at the bar before it gets crazy busy.

Only had the cajun burger and cajun fries. I would not recommend either of them. Burger is a smash burger and you get a comically small quantity of meat for 15 dollars. Fries were fries not sure what made them cajun. The bartender was very nice and helpful. Did not have any alcohol so can't comment on that. Maybe get the catfish if you have to eat there.

I am a big fan of Heavy Woods. I love the staff, appreciate the drinks, and the atmosphere serves its exact purpose. My concern is that the menu seems to be consistently dropping their best menu items. Since I became a regular their was jambalaya, gumbo, and pork crackling and over the last few months all items are no longer on the menu. Please bring it back!!!! By far your best offering and the reason I became a regular in the first place.
Poor service. Another mid bar run by gentrifiers. Be nice to you customers of color!
