Great atmosphere with friendly people. You won’t regret stopping in.
Not a safe space for paying trans patrons
One of the best bars in brooklyn. Excellent service good bartenders
My wife and I were visiting the city to see a Broadway show. I wanted to check out this bar because it is owned and operated by one of my favorite podcasters, Stuart Wellington. We arrived at the bar early in the afternoon and Stuart was there. We had a very pleasant conversation with him and the bartender who was from Ireland. I think her name was Angela, but I could be mistaken about that, sorry. The atmosphere was friendly, comfortable, welcoming and unpretentious. We ate some tater tots and pigs in blankets that were very tasty, and we drank some really good Singlecut buckwheat stouts. If I lived near this place it would definitely be my regular spot to enjoy a pint after work. I look forward to visiting again sometime. The only slight bummer was that they were sold out of Hinterlands t shirts in my size, but I will get one online when they are available. Thanks Stu! It was really nice to meet you!
Awesome place great prices. Had fun hanging here before the show at

OK, what made me stop in front of this bar is the sign on the container of water.
From what I could see, from the window outside, is that this place would be a good place in the neighborhood to have a few drinks and have people who care about you get you home safely. Now how did I come to that understanding? It came to me because of the two women that was sitting near, the water jug and I know that some of them had something to do with that sign. It was hot that day and they hanging out right down the street from lofty pigeon books. So meeting all these
people in this area brought back memories of the Brooklyn in the 70’s. “Just Folks “ and when you have just folks around you, you feel like you’re at home. You feel like you’re in the community and you feel like you’re safe. That’s how this area made me feel it took me back to Bergen Avenue and Nostrand.
I think y’all should go over and judge for yourself how Hinterlands Bar can make you feel. It’s called Welcome.

Painfully cool bartenders, great mocktails. Beautiful atmosphere. Super great spot in a very unassuming neighborhood.

One of the better bars in the area due to a tasteful aesthetic and pretty laid back atmosphere. Unfortunately some of the bartenders are on a power-trip. The 5ft 2ish bartender with long long curly hair desires to mindlessly escalate the situtation. A friend of his lost his temper during our discussion and started yelling and his response was to kick me out because since it's clear he has no time to find out what happened and why his deranged friend is at fault and apparently he's fed up from not being tipped early (a personal problem from earlier in the night that he feels compelled to make mine).
We may all have a difficult time at work, but most of us at least make an effort not pay it forward to people who had nothing to do with it. Apparently this isn't the case for some for some of the employees of the Hinterlands.
Find a place that doesn't employ powertripping Liliputian bullies who decide to unload on patrons because someone didn't tip them earlier.

Quaint local bar with outdoor seating in the backyard. Decent selection of beers. Love that you can easily check out the Lofty Pigeon bookstore next door.
This is a modern take on a neighborhood bar. The third space to socialize with friends, create memories or just chat up some locals. There's a large backyard space that's primo in the summer and the back room affords a bit of privacy.

Monday night Bartender was rude to my girlfriend for no reason, idk if it was a bad day but the rudeness was very unnecessary and unwarranted.
