The hunny and I came here for dinner. They had a live band playing. We went in ordered our food at the counter. The person taking our order was very nice. We got the Beef Ribs (yummy🤤), Brisket(yummy🤤), Pork Ribs(the Hunny Loved🤤), Collards(yummy🤤), Mac&Cheese(ok🙄), Queso (🤤🤤) and Wings(the hunny did not like at all😞). I would definitely return and recommend this place.

Great place and atmosphere, pretty pricey but worth the food. I had the beef rib. A very large portion that was satisfying. My wife had the Korean sticky ribs. Amazing. I wanted to try their desserts but we were full.

If you wanna try the real BBQ just give it a try. According to other reviews you may have to wait quite a bit in line. Today on a Friday for lunch we just arrived and got in. Everything was so great but special mention goes to the Pulled Pork and the Brisket. The meat just melts in your mouth.

Amazing atmosphere, Solid Food, really good service. Super long lines as it's normally busy, but once you're inside, you're good.

I am admittedly not a huge BBQ fan and this was not our first choice for lunch (we tried two other restaurants with enormous waits but were already in Redhook so leaving would have taken a ton of time before getting lunch). It was a lovely surprise.
For one, the wait was so short. Plenty of open walk in tables and ordering was a breeze. I will say the food is pricey-even for BBQ meat. So we were a bit limited in what we ended up getting.
Ordered a beef rib for $40: why it's so expensive I will never know. I do wish we were given real knives to cut it off the rib but once you get it off with the plastic knife you never want to stop.
Brisket sandwich: maybe one of the best sandwiches I've ever had? I'm not even sure why. The onions were so well cooked and the bread just perfect for this occasion. Must try.
Pastrami sandwich: was super excited to get this and was told after we ordered it was sold out. Bummer.
Cornbread: I probably would never have ordered this if I hadn't witnessed the previous orders having theirs coated with a honey sauce that made it look heavenly. And it tasted so.
Got a short rib to go-pumped to have it for dinner.
Super happy that you are able to get to-go containers of their BBQ sauce as I really did find these to be surprisingly delicious.
Would I drive out to Redhook again just for this? No. But if I lived here this would be a local rotation.

At first we weren't quite sure whether we should go in, but then we were captivated by the entire atmosphere of the restaurant. There was a band playing, the food was awesome. Absolutely recommended!

I’ve heard some good things about Hometown BBQ in Brooklyn, so I decided to go to their Red Hook location to see what the deal was. By the time I got there, they had ran out of the Beef Rib, so I did an audible and ended up deciding on the Pastrami Sandwich, Italian Pork Sausage, Korean Ribs, Mac and Cheese, Collard Greens, and a slice of Cornbread.
The Collard Greens and Mac did their jobs. Can’t go wrong with these classics. Especially loved the pork chunks in the greens.
The Pastrami Sandwich had me excited, but I must admit that it was just okay. The meat wasn’t as flavorful as I had hoped and the mustard dominated the sandwich.
The Sausage was good. Then I had the idea to turn it up a notch by using the Mac and Cheese as a dipping sauce! They need to throw that on the menu!
The Korean Ribs were spectacular! The toppings turned out to be a surprising harmony where the tangy bbq sauce blended well with the scallions, fried shallots, and cashews.
Lastly, the Cornbread was a nice bow on this one. They did another Soul Food classic great justice.

Tourist spot with decent food and a line that seems purposely slow. Better off at their industry city location.

Food and behind the scenes crew where on it! Excellent bbq and grillers. However the customer service facing staff where terrible. Treating guests poorly. They had blatant disregard for travelers near a cruise ship port. I was very disappointed in their behavior. Will not be going back because of the food order takers and bartender. I'm American and could see and hear how disgusting they treating traveling guests to the city. Management needs to do something because they have a good product with bad service.
