Disappointing & Abrupt Customer Service After Years of Loyalty I have been a dedicated, loyal customer of Hungry Ghost for four years, visiting regularly for my morning coffee with my Australian Labradoodle, Rose. Rose is a small, 30-pound dog, and as a weekly tradition, I purchase a croissant from the shop as a treat for her. This routine has never been an issue before. However, during my visit today, I was subject to extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable behavior from one of the baristas named Pat (tall, young man with brunette hair). While I was waiting for my coffee, holding Rose in my arms, I broke off small pieces of the croissant for her to eat. There was no mess on the floor or counter. Pat abruptly yelled at me, stating that I should not be feeding my dog the croissant inside the store. His demeanor was hostile, and he showed clear frustration. To top off the unpleasant exchange, he finished making my drink and then slammed the coffee down on the counter when presenting it to me. This interaction was completely uncalled for, and Pat’s aggressive behavior is a significant reflection of poor customer service. It is deeply disappointing to have such a positive, long-standing relationship with a local business tarnished by one employee's abrupt actions.

I started coming to this Hungry Ghost when I was pregnant because I was obsessed with the breakfast tacos, and now my daughter is nine months old it’s still part of our morning routine. At this point I’m confident i’ve met every single person who works here, and they’re all great, definitely not “allergic to friendliness.” My daughter actually lights up when she sees them, which tells you everything you need to know. My vanilla iced latte is always perfect, and there are at least five coffee shops closer to my apartment, but I still walk past them all to come here.

Came in hoping for a “Hungry Ghost” but left feeling more like a “Thirsty One.” The guy at the register seemed allergic to friendliness, and my iced latte had all the coffee strength of a bedtime glass of milk. Brooklyn has plenty of cafés that can do both service and flavor right — sadly, this wasn’t one of them.

This hungry ghost is markedly worse than other locations I’ve been too. The taste and quality of coffee is significantly worse and I can’t figure out exactly why that is outside of the barista’s just being bad. For example, their lattes are typically way too milky and don’t have a good ratio of milk to ice to coffee ratio. The quality of the espresso pull might also be lacking here.

I've been to this coffee shop before and usually enjoy my order, but this time was really disappointing. I ordered the exact same drink I always get, but it tasted like straight-up milk — barely any coffee at all. I knew something was off as soon as I tasted it. I was too nervous to speak up, so my mom went back to ask about it. The guy who made it admitted he purposely added less ice so it would have more milk — even though I never asked for that. Then he told us that if I wanted more espresso, I’d have to pay extra. No apology, no effort to fix it, just attitude. Note to anyone planning to stop by: maybe avoid going around 1:20 PM if you want your drink made right — or if you’d prefer not to be served by someone who acts like a total jerk for no reason.

Didn't get to take the photo,but on wednesday, I order the latte with half&half and a splash of simple syrup.If he read this he knows.The coffee was foamy and sweet and NO LATTE ART AT ALL! You know wht you did ,dude.Saw lots of good reviews and I make a stop while heading around that area. Even if they offer that coffee free I wouldn't drink again.

They say nice baristas, my baristas were very dry faced hipster looking guys, polite yes, but what a bad mood they had, the coffee 10 out of 10, the atmosphere is given by the people serving so.., ah! They gave my a pastry in a bag where I could have fit the entire counter, I took the pastry out and handed the bag back and they were not attentive at all, acted like I was handing them a bomb and didn’t offer to throw it away themselves, I couldn’t spot the bin easily and took them some time to help me out.
