Anyway, I went on TikTok craving a good plate of jerk chicken and we all know Tik Tok is an amazing guide. I saw a video about irie jerk and KNEW I had to try it the same day. And I did. Since then I have been a regular at irie jerk. I have always had a great experience and my chicken is always up to par. I truly appreciate the copious amounts of sauces available! My favorite combo is the sweet chill and chilli jerk. It gives me the perfect balance of spice and sweetness. Since the closing of the jerk spot on church and 94th I haven’t found a place that gives the same jerk chicken taste it was popular for until I found irie jerk.
After reading all of the reviews, let me say the time of day in which you purchase food makes a big difference at ANY and EVERY food establishment. There are busy days and there are slow days. This will directly affect the food quality. Additionally food is subjective, what I look for in jerk chicken may not be what the next person looks for.
Nonetheless, I am a proud patron of Irie Jerk!

Please don’t waste your time going there to buy jerk chicken. It’s really hit or miss depending on the day and time. Every time I go, if you order a small jerk, it’s always over-burnt and dry. For example, on Friday this is what I was served. It was horrible — I would never serve anyone chicken that burnt.

We ordered 2 small jerk chickens for four people and we loved it. So tasty! Will definitely order again. The time between ordering and picking it up was really fast. Very happy that this place is right around the corner :)

Hole in the wall is the best possible way that I could describe this place. The jerked chicken was charred a bit too much, no flavor and as much as I HATE a sauce on jerked chicken-which is not traditional-I’ll let it pass because it was the only component with flavor. It said online that they open at 12 noon and I don’t get my chicken until 12:38. That may slide in Jamaica but not in NYC.

Dont know how this place got a 4.3 .They must not know jerk chicken. 1 the piece look like the chicken was on a diet pure bone pieces Rice was that done in a rice cooker. Sauce was sweet and sour sauce you call that jerk sauce. Never again fake jerk place totally highley dissapointed instagram full of crap . I can make better jerk anyday anytime 1 star . Dont waste your time and money. Told my wife instragram full of fake wannabe sad jerk place nothing irie about it
They close at 8pm but it’s says 9 here. I left my job and painstakingly ran here, got here at 8:05pm and the man said they’re closed:(. And I work and live so far away. I feel terrible

The lady at the front was really friendly and made us up a plate right away, rice with chicken was about $20 for a big portion. PSA the chili jerk sauce is spicy! Next time may try without sauce

Chicken was amazing , some of the best in the area and I’ve tried a bunch. The problem is their system … 50 minutes for a small chicken order???? Clearly y’all need to buy another drum, hire another set of hands and figure something out. It’s just sad that business in the community run this way and when more gentrified fast casual options pop up people complain… the food is good but they have to do better they don’t community on wait time , who is where in line, and then when you get to the digital register for some reason the slow cashier still has to calculate it on a calculator….. then punch it in the DIGITAL IPAD. Mi seh hungry did a kill me , if they lady who jerk the chicken ain’t come out with a foil of festival and gave it to us standing on the line… in the non air conditioner cramped space.. for free , a bbc would’ve probably slipped out kmt. Do better … this had the potential to be great.
