Owner manning the cash register is snooty and also the bbq meat cutter too. They always refuse to give what cut type bbq meat u want. I wanted lean roast pork and they insisted the one they give you is lean, even though u tell them too much fat. Also price seems increased every month. Stop going there... there's other place better prices on 86 street. Also its VERY SLIPPERY and DANGEROUS for elderly walking with cane. Seems they mopped the marble floor with grease. Almost slip when I was walking with my cane on the floor. Rubber tip didn't help at all.

Shu mai were very unappealing, didn’t come with sauce. Prices were pretty high. Portions keep getting smaller.

Poor service rude as hell when I was ordering a rice box owner and server is rude making horrible comments

The egg tart is amazing! Be sure to go early for your goodies otherwise you will only have a limited pick! Sesame balls are always fresh! The bakery is rather small so be prepared to know what you want as you walk in.

Always come here for quick Chinese dim sum. Love the chow mein, sticky rice, congee and egg tarts!

Every so often I frequent this establishment for bread and Asian delights. I will usually purchase Duck with white rice. They are located on 18th Avenue between 85th and 86th Street in Brooklyn, New York. Accessible via the B1 bus or the D train..

The window meat on rice dishes are fine but skip the sauce they ladle in. It's all MSG. Like the kind that ruins the rest of your day level MSG

Like many meat-on-a-window chinese restaurants in 86 street it's just full of MSG that it cease to be food. I admit when they first opened the char siu was pretty decent. But I don't know what to call it, greed? Cutting corners? If you like to feel that hot anxiety tired feeling from consuming too much monosodium glutamate (a little is totally fine) then by all means stop by. I hope they take note of this review if not the line out the door of waiting customers from their competition ignoring their flaccid meats on their storefront.

Must get the egg tarts and/or Porteguese egg tarts! Joe's bakery is affiliated with Yu King bakery, on 86th as well. I enjoy going to either location. I appreciate a bakery that serves more than just coffee, tea and buns. They have hot food like many Chinese barbeque items, various dim sums, noodles, rice casseroles, and more! Highly recommend the regular and Portuguese egg tarts! I like this particular dried pork floss cake there too. I have not tried other buns but The suckling pig with crispy skin is legit. I like my piece in the middle of the pig, by the rib . Their dim sum here falls into average bakery dim sum, but subpar compared to a dim sum restaurant. The rice rolls are nice and soft, the shrimp quality inside could really improve. Their steamer is also not that hot, food is just warm. I do not recommend their chicken feet and their sticky rice in lotus leaf. The chicken feet needs more flavor. The sticky rice in lotus leaf was dry, had no flavor and they use the leftover meats. I'll stick to their bakery baked goods and their great customer service instead.

Best crispy roast pork in town, stays crunchy all day! Solid dim sum selection too! Friendly staff!

Went this morning for dim sum and bakery goods which on this 2nd time was instructional since last time I went at 2p while today it was 08:30a which I realized was before the bakery had even put out its goods for the first round thus no bread only a few cakes which I learned are the only bakery items left out for sale for a 2nd day so 1 of the breads wasn't quite fresh, the meat floss cake as it's called, thus 1 star off. Po-tarts were yet to be delivered, which is expected, given their location and reality of bakery staffing during pandemic. The dim sum might have been a carryover and was quite salty but in this era of limited supplies, I'll still give it a big confident rating.Dim sum was plentiful with all the variety of favorites so I got chicken feet, beef balls in Worchestershire, shrimp balls in rice, siu mai, bean curd rolls, 3 char siu baos, pork fried fat sweet bun (not the right translation, but a Cantonese treat my family says), and sesame ball (how could I not? it's practically mental health). I pretty much went one of everything except 3.Thus overall, 4-stars for not-fresh cake on day 2 else dim sum, baked sweets are delish and of course at its famously low prices which all in all bumps it back to 5, as good as it gets all things considered.

Was craving some Portuguese Egg Tart and came across this bakery. Based on the other reviews and that they also serve Dim Sum dishes we deiced to give it a try. Everything was pretty great beside the Chicken Feet with Special Sauce, lacked some flavor. The Portuguese Egg Tart was tasted really good. The egg custard was smooth and the tart was thin, soft and flaky.

One of my to go places for "Po Tat"I fell in love with Joe's beautiful flaky Portuguese egg tart the minute I saw it. As I gazed into the plate full of deliciousness, I immediately asked the people at the bakery for 2. Delighted to hear that when you buy 2, you get 1 free so I ended up with a great deal. Their dim sum is on point too, one of my favorite is their fried shrimp balls that I usually buy 2 dishes. Some may think $4 for 3 shrimp balls is steep but once you take a bite in, you'll think it's all worth it. The shrimp ball is filled with all shrimp and it's tender and juicy. Some other dim sums I recommend are their dumplings, pork ribs, shumai, etc.Overall, I highly recommend this place.
