This is one of my favorite spots on smith Street, in Brooklyn. Great Margheritas, food is always fresh and im never had a bad meal here. French and Mexican fushion..both are done fantastic.

This was one of the more odd but enjoyable experiences I've had, what made it more enjoyable than weird was I was with one of my best friends. We decided to sit outside under the heater and had about three different people waiting on us. Can't really blame any of them for anything that went down, lots of places need help and are understaffed. The weirdest thing that happened was our entrees came out before our apps, we'd joked about and had picked off the giant pieces of cilantro atop each of our dishes and suddenly the guy then came rushing back, sorta muttering about some kind of mistake PUT THE CILANTRO BACK ON THE FOOD and took it away. Was it given to someone else? Left under a heat lamp for a half hour and brought to us later? Thrown out? The world may never know. However, the service was good! And the menu is...eclectic but also not (it's a bit random but mainly french/Mexican). We ordered the escargot to share and chicken and shrimp fajitas. The food was great. Escargot should just be buttery, garlicky goodness and this was. The veggies in the fajitas were great and the shrimp were big! For dessert I ordered a hot cocoa (which apparently I mispronounced) and my buddy ordered an Irish coffee. Both were good but ANOTHER ODDITY. My cocoa came in a mug and his Irish coffee, a hot beverage, came in a wine glass? Wine glasses don't seem great for hot drinks but neither of us had drunk a hot beverage from one. But we were right, completely ridiculous way to serve it but ya know it just seemed to add to the silliness of the evening. We'll go back and if it's any less weird I'd be disappointed.

Food is great. Drinks are so good! They only had 2 servers (understandably bcoz of Covid). I just wish the bathroom was cleaner.

Very fun menu featuring a hybrid Mexican-French style food. Something for everyone. Great cocktails. Several different flavors of Margaritas. Great service, did check vaccination status though Staff were not wearing masks. Good space. Food was excellent. Had sea food and it was quality. Would recommend. Fairly priced for New York

Freshly made guacamole with chips started our brunch selections which included a Jolie burger, enchiladas and 2 orders of Breton buckwheat crepes filled with blackbeans, scrambled eggs and cheese. All were well made, tasty and filling. Special mention for the wonderful coffee. Highly recommended!

We popped in (outside) unplanned for brunch. We ordered chicken fingers, jolie omelet with salad, and croque monsieur with fries. Service was quick and friendly. Chicken fingers are more of a breaded cutlet, but kids liked them. Fries are excellent. Omelet was nice, too, but I wish I had added cheese! (I always assume in my head that omelets come with cheese and am always wrong). Salad was ok. I'm not sure if the spinach leaves were on their way out or if it was something funny about the dressing. Croque monsieur was really tasty. We must have accidentally ordered a side of fries, but they were delicious and all eaten. Solid experience! Lots of people were ordering nachos, so maybe we will try those sometime.

I so badly wanted to like Jolie. I've gone a few times now and just can't get behind it. The idea of Mexican/French fusion sounds amazing, but there are few, if any, dishes on the menu that sound appetizing to me. The mole tacos were bland. The tuna tartare is awful -- they incorporated black truffle into it which is overpowering. The guacamole and churros are fine. The real kicker for me was when I ordered a plain tequila margarita no salt that they could not get right. First they brought out a margarita with salt, which our server actually noticed and proactively took back. Next he brought out the margarita without salt, but made with mezcal. I don't like mezcal, so I asked our server to have the bartender fix it. And then I think he forgot about it because I waited an additional 15-20 min and no margarita. By then we were nearly done with our meal so I told him to forget about it and bring the check instead.

I had lunch here. The cod sandwich with fries was excellent as was the service, despite it being quite busy. There’s both inside and outdoor seating. The french press coffee wasn’t very exciting but overall I was very pleased. (I think the name of the establishment is Jolie Bistro, not “Cantina”? In any case, the address is indeed 241 Smith).

Not sure what happened recently, but this place is disgusting. I’ve been coming here since they were on Atlantic Ave 10+ years ago. No more. Now, too-sweet cocktails, clear French onion soup, & flies.

Stopped in today for Brunch and was underwhelmed. My sidekick recommended we try this place today since she had visited previously and wanted to give them another shot. It turned out to be one of those, "I am sorry." Between the two of us we got the Hanger Steak and Fish Tacos. We both got Fries with our Tacos and that turned out to be mistake. One of us should have opted for the Black Beans. The Fríes were nicely salted but the fail was that it was not as crispy as we would have liked and but more on the soggy side. Additionally, the taste was as though old oil was used. The Tacos were reasonably okay. Nothing that wowed either of us. We asked for hot sauce because it was not spicy as advertised. We also ordered a side of Salsa and Chips. The sauce was nice but the chips were not as warm as they should be. Overall, not an experience that makes us want to return. But maybe we will stop by again to try some other foods because our food hopping experience has taught us that sometimes places can be a hit or miss depending what one orders to eat. Until then, it's adios!

I've enjoyed multiple meals at Jolie and it's quickly become a neighborhood fave of mine.
