Don’t bother making a reservation, you will still have to wait well beyond 30 minutes to sit down anyway. On top of that, serving size of entrees was small. Not worth the time and money you pay. Many better options within a few blocks to try instead.

Jr’s has become my go to spot when my husband and I want a reliably delicious meal and welcoming vibes. I love how sweet the staff is and how the space just hugs you with a throwback and warm feeling. We were also lucky to coincide one night with the former owners and I loved hearing about how many of the photos are real family pictures that were preserved. Our usual (all shared) is currently:
Arancini salad (so satisfying!),
Paccheri (perfect level of spice),
Ravioli (such a nice touch with the mint ricotta),
and the whole branzino.
An absolute must every time for dessert: the rainbow cake. Trust me, you won’t regret the calories.

Such a great reopening! Our group had an amazing time. The space feels classic, cozy and chic; the kind of place you can spend the rest of the night at or a perfect start to a night out! The chef and staff are also so in tune with the atmosphere - creative, fun, helpful, and charming! Cherry on top of the whole night.

Now, the FOOD…chefs kissss! I could have had two of everything we ordered. Every dish has its own special twist yet everything still felt so balanced. Absolutely DELICIOUS.

Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!!

Everything was amazing! The tartar and trout pasta were both incredible — super fresh and full of flavor. The octopus is a must-try, don’t ever leave without ordering it! The caviar was so fresh and delicious, easily one of the best I’ve had.

The food was on point and the service was excellent — friendly, quick, and really made the whole experience even better. Can’t wait to come back!

Needs a lot of work, particularly the attitude of the hosts and poor restaurant design. The booth seating (the standard seating for groups) is completely unsuitable for 4 people to have a comfortable dinner, we were squished in like sardines and were avoiding playing accidental footsies with our opposing diners the whole evening. Also, for a New York restaurant that wants to do any business in winter, you need to have a coat check or hooks. You simply cannot (and with a bad attitude) tell us you have no options other than to hold your coats inside the already cramped booth. Food was passable but nothing to write home about (garlic bread and octopus were the highlights). From the pedigree of the restauranteurs involved we expected a lot more.

Very rarely do I leave reviews but unfortunately have now had 2 negative experiences dining here related to poor service. When coming to dine in, my party was greeted brusquely and this harshness continued throughout service where, while despite the restaurant not seeming that busy busy, waiters took a very long time to take our orders, were generally unpleasant, and overall we did not feel welcome or invited.

The final straw was when trying to call to ask for a slightly longer (5 more minute) grace period for a different reservation, the host on the phone was (1) rude and (2) unaccommodating saying they could not make any promises. I understand it’s hard to hold tables but generally the response when the ask was made was again very unpleasant and rude.

Charming old-school New York atmosphere, pasta was perfectly cooked and seasoned, but what really shined was the service; just outstanding. Truly attentive and always accommodating without fake smile energy. Can't compliment the professionalism of the team enough.

9:00 reservation on a Wednesday and they were out of everything. We had a birthday and stopped the waitress before our entrees even came to ask if they still had rainbow cookie cake and to ask that they save us a slice and we were assured that they had plenty. 15 minutes later we were ready for dessert and were then told by a different waitress that they were out of cake. Very disappointing service and experience. I don’t understand why they don’t prepare enough drink mix or food items for their daily service.

So much potential, with a cozy and historic space. But the food just doesn't meet the moment. Very limited (and overpriced) wine list. I get the whole red sauce vibe, but the food is truly mediocre and uninspired considering the price point. No thanks.

Food was excellent I had the foccacia, the octopus and the branzino, oh and pistachio icecream, all dishes were delicious. The octopus god that sauce & the potatoes unreal. Max, the bartender was great, gave recommendations and was so lovely. I will definately be back!

The aesthetic of this restaurant is unique yet warm and inviting. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We started with the bread service and I was blown away by how good it was. For entrees I had the skirt steak with parsley butter and it was incredible beyond words. My husband had the Paccheri (Spicy Lobster Fra Diavolo Sauce) and it was equally amazing. We ended the meal with dessert, he got the rainbow cookie layer cake and I got the chocolate and pistachio sundae. As someone who is not a big sweets eater, it was a perfect combination of sweet and salty. We will 100% be coming back to this establishment!

We had the oysters , onion rings , Caesar salad ( which I absolutely loved) Cacio pepe and the chicken parm - I loved the spin they put on it but warning it is spicy! Ended with the superb ice cream Sunday and left with a big smile .
