This place closed down and reopened and still have the same horrible service. Stood in line for over 15 mins and it didn’t even move. Workers aren’t enthusiastic or motivated at all. They rather twist, turn and talk than serving the customers and getting them out. SLOW SERVICE. ALWAYS OVER CROWDED.

Food is favorable, delicious, and exquisitely desirable. The service has well mannered staff who will cater to your wants to serve you. The staff prefer language based is Haitian Creole and they can communicate in English. The atmosphere is giving long lines & worth the wait in a crowded area, sure enough the line moves. Check them out! Kala one of my favorite to go Haitian restaurants in NYC.

The food is good , but customer service is sucks . They don’t take order over the phone . Not everyone lives locally. I live on Long Island and sometimes my family and I are just in the mood for some Haitian foods and it hurts that I have to go in and stand on a long line to place my actual order . Come on , we are in an American food business World. Other people , nationalities may just be in the mood for some good Haitian foods , and that is a major disappointment. The fact that their service is not great . Come on Kal’s restaurant ! Please find any way to improve. People do appreciate your foods . So please give better customer services.

It's typical Haitian restaurant in the community. If you're looking your 5 star not the place. However what ever you need you'll get.- Haitian Bread- pastries- Food ( gives you good amount)- prices reasonable ( for a family of five it's about $60-$80 total) depending on what you get to eat- All freshly cooked- closes late 12mid nightHave an event : they cater ( worth it)Ladies behind the counter will take care of you. ( They're loud but it's the culture)Lines are super long - so know what you want.If you know papi Kal he's the father grandfather of everyone everyone respects him- you'll see him working saying hello to everyone.I give 4.5 stars I'm big on appearance but I've been going since I was a kid out not going to change any time soon.

I have been discriminated against at that place. I ordered some bread and the cashier turned me away because of the way the five dollar bill that I gave her looks. (photo included) She asked me for another bill and I clearly told her that's the only money I had. When I asked to speak with the manager, she disgustingly uttered: " those boat people are always a problem." At last, she put back the bread and asked me to leave the premises and I did just that. So hard to believe but this really happened on Friday, March 24th, 2023.
