A great upscale kava bar with tasty drinks! The staff is always welcoming and accommodating I just wish the drinks were stronger and cheaper, I understand it's Williamsburg but there are kava bars in Bushwick with much cheaper drinks that are far stronger whether it be kava drinks or kratom drinks.

Do NOT go here. I ordered one of the drinks and got extremely sick afterwards, throwing up for hours. The bartender said they had banned this powder that they had accidentally put in my drink and had the audacity to still charge me. Also, they kept questioning my friend’s dog that was a service animal and asked her to leave very rudely, which is ILLEGAL. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER

I've visited at least 3 Kava spots in BK, all in Bushwick or Crown Heights. My first visit to this spot in Williamsburg, and am immediately ignored by the bartender, no eye contact, no greeting. That's fine, I'm still just waiting for them to be done so I can order. I wait patiently. And even though some dude just walked in, bartender proceeds to ignore me and ask if she can help the dude. When I waved my hand and said hello she gave me an attitude as though I'm wrong for speaking up that I was there first. So whatever, I order then go towards another side of the cafe so I can wait. I lean on a table which I assumed was bolted. It was not. It moved slightly and the 1 person sitting at the table gave me a similar look of disgust and attitude. Help me understand how a whole cafe full of people on kava and kratom are so sad and pressed.Honestly, I'm not surprised by this because *ahem* williamsburg, but I have to speak up because black people WILL come in to your establishment, and I want to forewarn them that it is not the friendliest environment.oooooooooooof never returning here again for sure. And encourage others to visit Brooklyn Kava, Misfit Kava, or Lakou Cafe in Crown Heights.peace

Best social spot in the area by far! Great kava/kratom drinks. Super friendly staff. Met a ton of good people there over 2 years at this point! Good for working.

Amazing place....delicious drinks and terrific ambiance. Everyone is very friendly and it's nice to have a change from the typical bar scene. Also very inclusive, as a minority I keep an eye out of these kinds of things and there's always a very diverse crowd in there and is very LGBPTQ+ as well. Highly recommend trying it and researching kava and kratom before you go, but if you don't the bartenders will be very helpful and explain it to you!

So, I just moved to NYC and am new to the kava scene. I came here since I was in the area and as soon as I walked in I got a weird vibe. Bartender was inattentive was rude and forgot my drink. Drink was $20.The men here are a little creepy when I come alone.Didn’t feel much for the drink. Maybe a headache one time. I don’t trust their kratom if it’s giving me a headache. It seems like other reviewers have had similar experiences.I’ve had better interactions & drinks at the other kava bars in NYC.

Great for a chill night with friends or to come solo and do some work.Kava tastes way better than other places I’ve tried.Do your research if you’ve never had kava/kratom before and ask for a drink with a low dosage. Also they’re happy to give you a carafe of water with your beverages, so try to alternate in between.

I've been to this place numerous times. They have always impressed me with amazing drinks. Tonight i went with my brother and friends (who go here weekly). The drinks were awful and were not worth it. We have had a terrible experience and are contemplating returning to this establishment. They used to be the number one location.

A great alternative to your everyday coffee shop where you hang out and get work done... It is just that instead of coffee, Kava Social serves drinks with kava or kroton (extracts made from plants from South Pacific). It is tough to explain, but I suggest you go and check it out yourself. Great atmosphere, great service, and great people to hang out with.

I was recently in Brooklyn on a girls trip with my best friend who had gone to rehab earlier this year. She is in AA and I was so stoked to find this "sober bar/social club" we both could enjoy.I had no idea that this was a Kava/Kratom bar, nor did I have a clue what this stuff was prior to going here. It's proclamation of being a "sober bar" is not just misleading, it is downright wrong.Luckily the bartender was attentive and knowledgable about this stuff. Due to the mind altering effects of these, please consider changing up how the bar is portrayed. Booze free, yes. But this is far from being a sober bar.

Its so beautiful here. I dont mind spending my computer days at the bar and chatting with the amazing staff. Always a friendly vibe and such creative drinks! Get the krank it up with green or the golden mule if you want to feel wavy. They also have fun events and always board games to play a round with your friends.

Tried one of their Kratom drinks and quickly felt so nauseous I had to leave. They seriously need to educate people on the effects of Kratom, Kava, etc. Super irresponsible establishment.

For me, it’s one of my favorite places to sit down and work. They have Friendly, knowledgeable And welcoming staff. overall chill vibes. Love that they usually have sports on the TVs.. I would say it’s the perfect place for people to try/experience kava/Kratom but also just to sit down and relax with your friends/coworkers. It’s a great substitute to the standard cafes/bars in Williamsburg… I could maybe see some new and curious people being hesitant to order something at first, but the menus and bartenders/barista explain quite well what to expect from a drink you’re interested in. ?
